I understand that this is Nick's forum, and believe me i DO appreciate it...in fact, it's the only Subaru forum I subscribe to...

There will always be someone who will post something inappropriate, but most people respect the limits, and beyond that, the mods do an excellent job of catching the things that just don't belong...

OT is a great place for me to let off steam, pester the mods, etc., but on the other hand overzealous censorship belongs in N. Korea , not here...

I apologize in advance for that blank post, to Nick and the mods....but that's just my opinion.....

While I get your point... you guys are SOOO restricted posting here... come on now... We really close about on average I would guess like 5-10 threads from OT a week... considering there are probably over 1000 new threads each week... I'd say that's pretty small percentage.

There are a few things that we don't let fly... if that's too resrictive for you then I don't know what to say. I can pretty much guarantee that if you searched for ANYTHING in OT it would be here... the only thing we really crack down on is porn, useless flaming, and over the top sexual threads.

So again... you guys are SOOO restricted posting here... gimme a break. You talk about boobies on a board catering to the Subaru market... don't ya think that's a stretch in itself.

Mods are'nt paid.. they do it out of love for this board. Which is why we should respect them... as much as I feel they are in the wrong sometimes, you have to remember how much they put into this board...

But I know what ya mean and this board kicks butt. I don't think you or any of the mods are overly restrictive. You've clearly (and repeatidly) posted what is acceptable and what's not. If people aren't smart enough to read/follow the rules, Darwin will soon remove them from this planet.

I do have a question concerning the vocabulary filter that maybe you can answer.
Why is it that W-T-F, which is just an abbreviation, is filtered out? And the 'correct' or 'anatomical' word for a womans 'private' place ... you know.. the 'V' word? Why in the world would that be filtered? And I have also seen a few others that don't come directly to mind, but are really harmless.
One reason why I ask is this...
There was a discussion about cervical cancer a few weeks ago that I was posting on. After submitting my post, I saw that when I used the 'V' word, it was *ed out. Now.. this word is used in highschool text books, but we can't use it on here?? It was a bit frustrating that I had to go back and edit my post to a 4 year old's level.
I guess what I am looking for is some reasoning behind some of the filtering.. Don't get me wrong.. I can see why you would filter out profanity.. but a many of the things I have seen filtered would not fall in the 'profanity' box.
