Considering how most people gripe about the torque dip... I'm going to lean toward people not knowing how to drive the car properly.

Yup to both. Even in our WRX, when in 5th, you drop to 4th for the huge power boost for really fast passing. With the BRZ, I'm betting a lot of those folks use the shift light… Personally, I adore the BRZ when it's running in the 4k-5k's-- it was the highlight of passing the break in period! Our WRX doesn't even have turbo lag-- when you shift and keep it over 32. :P I learned to shift by engine sound, not watching RPMs, so maybe that's the difference?
