Fantastic! Thank you very much for the order. You are correct, our tune will eliminate any CEL concerns. Our site-wide free shipping offer expired a few weeks ago, so this will not be available for this particular purchase.

We will be offering maps specific for this downpipe in conjunction with the EcuTek device. We do not currently have plans to develop an AP map. We are anticipating a ship-date the first week of November for our first batch of downpipes!

Thanks again for the order!

Dammit. If I had the funds I would be all in. Very nice looking downpipe.

I have seen another mfg. that incorporated a flex pipe into their downpipe design. Their reasoning behind it was based on one of the downpipe mounting points being on the transmission. They said that the tranny mounts were weak and allowed for a lot of movement when launching or hard shifting, which could, in turn, lead to broken downpipe mounting brackets if the flex section had not been incorporated. What is your take on this? Do you guys think there may be a possibility of broken mounting brackets with no flex section on the downpipe?

Thanks for the kind words! Great question regarding the flex joint. The downpipe mounts to the turbocharger, the rear of the transmission and to the cat-back portion of the exhaust system. The stock downpipe does not utilize a flex joint, and our team did not see a need for adding this component into our design. We do not anticipate any issues with engine movement and/or damage to this mounting point due to that movement.

Thanks!

It's a tad bit disappointing that because I purchased a widely popular tuner, the Cobb AP, I will not be using this beautiful piece of art. Even with a custom e-tune (not OTS) using my AP, I still can't use it due to the code.

Why not incorporate a 90 degree bend for secondary O2 to prevent codes? Is there a particular reason this was not done? I get that there is an added port for a wideband.

I'm definitely loving the piece. Welds look beautiful. Just wondering a few things.

Cobb hasn't deleted codes yet.
Yes, I realize ECUtek is head of the game and may dominate the 15 market, but I went with cobb before ECUtek made the advances...

Yes, we have had several inquiries about AP maps for our products. At this time, we are only planning to offer product-specific tunes through use with the EcuTek device. If you must stick with the AP, a pro-tune for our products will certainly bring out some nice power gains and allow you to take advantage of the additional flow.

Great question regarding the secondary 02. Our assumption is that a high majority of our consumers will be running either one of our tunes or a pro-tune when using our downpipe. In fact, we do not recommend using our downpipe with the stock tune in any conditions. Our product specific tunes will eliminate any CEL caused by the 02 sensor, we would recommend your pro-tune also do the same.

Thanks for the kind words regarding the welds and quality! It is a super nice piece and we are very excited to start shipping these out to customers.

We have had a ton of success with the EcuTek unit, our team is very pleased. Downpipe tuning continues today!

I have an Ecutek protune and license for my 2015 wrx. When I order a downpipe to compliment my Mishimoto intake how do I install your Ecutek tune?

Great, that makes things very easy. We will include instructions with our downpipe regarding the location of our tune files and how to acquire them. Once acquired, the tune can simply be loaded into your EcuTek unit. After that you can hit the road and enjoy the power increase!

We should have a few plots to share early next week. We saw some really nice gains in torque with the downpipe installed. The car feels very strong!

Thanks

Default Questions

Mishimoto,

The WRX (CVT) I bought has the SPT STI Catback exhaust.

1. Will your Down Pipe still fit my car?

2. Would it be best to get a custom tune or would the ecutek device you are selling be ok/ good enough? (I also plan to get your CAI)

Regards,

Aecil

Hello Aecil,

Congrats on your purchase! We actually have the STI cat-back exhaust on one of our shop vehicles as well. The downpipe will mate with both the stock WRX and STi cat-back systems.

I would recommend picking up the EcuTek unit. We will be releasing tunes for the downpipe as well as our downpipe + intake system. These tunes are specific to our products and only applicable with this device. In doing so, it is simple to load a new tune every time you install one of our products. We have managed to put down some serious numbers with the downpipe on a CVT vehicle (exact numbers coming soon). If you ever have a need to get a pro-tune, the EcuTek unit can be used for that as well.

Let me know if you have any additional questions!

Thanks
