There a reason you cant get a $2700 check refund sent to you rather than a $2700 credit.

A $2700 refund check just turned your charge into a $2700 "cash advance" without the credit card company being able to charge you the higher interest rates and finance charges associated with credit card cash advances.

Simple as that, and business are not supposed to do a refund in this manner.

I figured it was something like that. But then again, it would have been nice to be told that instead of being told "it requires more paperwork." I am in business myself and to me that sounds like a total cop-out. I guest honesty is difficult to find in today's world. People would rather save face or save a few bucks and say to hell with being honest and respectable. Bummer.

That depends on which wheels you have. Regular wheels are pretty cheap, but when you get 17" forged aluminum racing wheels that have to be high speed balanced it costs a little more.

So, instead of being a simple bolt on job, I had to have them re-balanced. Hmm...I wonder if they would credit me like they did you for having to take them elsewhere?

Just wanted to follow-up on this. They did credit my account for the $30 it cost to get them re-balanced. I just emailed them and faxed a copy of my receipt and it was there within a week. Good service.

Default Details

The details are what are missing with the Tirerack.

Ordered in the beginning of the year Kumho Victoracers from them noticed that they have a right and left marking on them. I got one left and three rights. After talking to autoX people they said it didnít really matter so I just used them, but if Kumho marked R&L with different angled patterns then they had to have a reason.

Shipping has always been great, South Bend to Detroit only takes two days but Fed Ex decided to drop MY KYB AGX struts in the back yard of the guy across the street from me. I have a covered deck on the back of my house but they rear yard in the grass of a house not mine looked safer to the FedEx guy when itís raining. Ok this is a Fed Ex problem not Tirerack.

One of the front shocks fit great took Ĺ hour to install a piece of cake. The other was different it had a different brake line holder and no ABS wire mount. This chezzed me why would they be different the part numbers matched though. After waiting till Monday I called them and they are sending a new one but itís still a pain. With X-mas and all I prob will not get it till the end of the week.

They are sending a new one no questions thatís cool but still pissed it was wrong to begin with. More attention to details would make me feel a lot more happy with the Tirerack.

That's 20 per wheel. Costco should be pretty cheap.

Where I work, my friends and I have ordered at least 30 sets of tires from Tirerack. Probably 8 sets of tires and rims, even 24's last week! Brake pads, lugnuts, brakelines, 8 sets of lowering springs, 3 sets of coilovers and probably 10 sets of shocks. I have had not one problem! I have a set of 18" OZ Supperlegras for my WRX that the clear coat is kind of fading. I have had them for over a year and Tirerack is going to replace them. Actually the Supperlegra has been discontinued, so I get full credit towards whatever I want! Tirerack is great!

Simple as that, and business are not supposed to do a refund in this manner.
In the 70's and 80's, unscrupulous types were churning CC's for cash. They'd put a sale on a stolen or fraudulent CC, then ask for a refund in cash or check. The refund is done and gone by the time the vendor doesn't get funded for the original purchase.

That's why merchants, in almost all cases, insist on a type-for-type refund.

I think she told you it'd be too much paperwork to avoid "Are you accusing me of being a fraud" etc etc.

Edit: Also, the merchant has to pay a 2-3% discount fee with each CC transaction. A CC reversal reverses the fee as well. So if they had sent you a check, they would be paying ~$50 discount fee for a net zero sale.

Question Tire Rack question ...need help

Tire Rack did an excellent job with my order. They helped me figure out how to get the center caps out of my wheels(GC06-D Prodrive), apparently I wasn't pushing hard enough because I was afraid of damaging the wheel. But I pushed harder and the popped right out. They also sent me and extra set of centercaps at no charge in case those got damaged in the process. A+++

I do have one problem but I don't know if it is their fault or not. When I get to 60mph+ I get a SLIGHT vibration from the steering wheel. However, I have noticed that my steering wheel is not exactly straight on my steering column. It points to the right about 3-4 degrees when the car is going straight. BUT, *I did not notice this vibration until I put the new wheels n tires on.* Do you guys think it is an alignment problem or my tires came incorrectly balanced? Anyone else's steering wheel not exactly straight? Has anyone had problems with incorrecly balanced tires from tirerack? If I take the tires to get balanced will I get some reimbursement?

My opinion>I DO believe that something IS wrong with my alignment, but I DON'T think this would cause the vibration of the steering wheel. Thanks for help in advance.

all i can say is this guy really dissappointed me that he even works at the Tirerack. Ever since 5-6 years ago, I been
very pleased with Tirerack's personnel and service.
Luke and George had been great but this guy "Buddy"...
he's an ass.

The way he talks and his careless way of taking care of my
order prevented my part to arrive via 2 day air. it was suppose
to arrive today but never came. he had ignored my email
already once. I hope tirerack re-trains this guy.

I finally had to buy replacement tires for my 18" rims. I wanted to try to get an all season with rim guard. [email protected] reccomended Sumitomo HTR+ 225/40-18.

Had the tires shipped to my normal service shop buth they discovered that they couldn't mount 18s! Checked out tirerack again & took the tires to a well rated shop (tirerack's rating). Got mounted, but had a vibration. Went back, they check all wheels & they pointed out that 1 rim had a slight dent .. could only be seen while spinning on the balancing machine. Still had a a shimmy in the steering wheel. Then they said that they just mounted 4 wheels for a vette 7 it had no problem.

I emailed Vance about the situation & he sent a link to the Hunter www.gsp9700.com wheel balancing machine. That site a list of all the shops in the area that used that machine. BTW Allll the upscale car dealers use that machine. Soooo I went to the nearest shop that could get me in ... which was right a way.

They found a tire out of round. Emailed Vance, he appologized & said he entered the infor into my account & to call customer [email protected] Did so, got a replacement tire sent to the shop with the Hunter machine ... and it still took a 2nde trip back to get the shimmy out!

Long story short, kudos to tirerack & Vance. Find a shop that has the Hunter GSP9700 balancing machine.

I got the prob fixed long ago.....I just took em to wal mart n had em balanced. They used the clamp on weights, which I prefer.

although my steering wheel is still not straight. This seems to be a common occurence.

The steering wheel not being straight is a alignment issue. There is no reason why the steering wheel shouldn't be straight after an alignment ... unless there is some mechanical damage.

I got Pirelli PZero Neros from their website. Really quick service, and the tires are great. They have a really great website too. I wish they would start selling Enkeis and Rotas.

Default Quick Service !

I just ordered a set of wheels & tires yesterday from the Tirerack. Just before lunch today, they were delivered to my house (and that's using ground service).

I think I'll mount them this evening!

Thanks Tirerack.com

Angry SCREWED by TireRack...i thought they were reputable..but I was wrong...

3 weeks ago, I bent my rim so I went to TireRack. I bought a OEM WRX wheel off them for $88 + $20 s/h and they guaranteed that they were new wheels. So I received it 3 days later, and paid the outrageous (but expected) customs of $60CDN.

BUT, when I opened the box, the wheel had tiny little scratches all over the spokes that I could not polish off. In addition to this, there was a 1/4 circumferential scratch made (presumably) by a weight on the rim. I phoned TireRack and complained and they said that I could send it back and REPAY the freight charges or they will give me a $30 refund.

Well, I told them I would thnk about it. So after work I went to go pop this rim onto my car adn the shop ask me: "Did you buy this new?" I said "yeah" and they said "how come there is a weight on it?" and I didn't know thatnew wheels didn't come with weights. Anyway, they said that there were lugnut marks on the rim and that the weight means that this was a used OEM wheel with blemishes. I was just sick of this running around without my car so I said "Put it in" and I drove home 3 blocks from the shop.

Angered by this, I phoned TireRack right away to complain and they said "Hmm...maybe the returned wheel got mixed up with the new wheels." And after a discussion with her supervisor, she said "BTW, this is a TakeOFf wheel which means that it has been used before." I was like how come you guys didn't tell me this before when I phoned you about it? And then I asked what I could do....and OMG guess what she said..

#1. Return it and we will give you a refund, but you have to pay ALL shipping and customs/freight from Canada.

#2. Keep it on your vehicle and we WILL NOT give you a refund. Basically, I'm screwed because I put it on my vehicle already.

I was pissed and demanded to speak to the supervisor and after 5-10 min of waiting, she wouldn't talk to me and gave me the same options! I wanted to speak with someone else and she said there are no more people who will speak directly to customers. Finally, I said I will complain in writing and she said she would give me a $30 refund.

This whole ordeal took 2-3 hours of my time. Dealing with TireRack was a PAIN and UNPLEASANT to say the least. I will never go with them again.
