On a year old car? Clean your blades. My car crossed the 9 year mark in September and I think I’m on my third set of wipers.
Granted, I live in Florida so never freezing helps but they should still last for much longer than most think. Windex and a paper towel, you’ll be amazed how much crap comes off them... |

I like either the Bosch Icons or the Valeo Ultimate Beams
FYI - I find you typically should change them between 6-9 months in northeast climates - temp changes definitely effect them negatively... Bosch has a site where you can put in your vehicle details and get the proper sizing: https://www.boschautoparts.com/en/auto/wiper-blades As does Valeo: http://catalog.valeoserviceusa.com/ Or alternately you can go to the auto parts store and use the book/lookup guide in the wiper aisle (or just ask at the front for them to lookup the sizing as well) Lately I've had more luck with the Valeos.... which you can find on Amazon for decent pricing just get the model number from the Valeo Site |

If your car is 1 year old you have 2 years left of a warranty to get free blade insert replacements at the dealer.

A set of Silblades lasted about four years on my hatch. I think the VA uses 26" and 16" blades.

what ever you decide on is up to you, but I will let you know to steer clear of the Rain-X blades. I got roped in with the "hype"...errr, advertising and decided to put some on my '04 GTI to replace the tricore aero blades that were on it. Sure, for the first use of the rain-x blades, they work fine, but after the first use, they pretty much don't do the "rain-x" thing well and of course the solution is used up pretty fast, especially in a heavy rain. secondly, they look terrible on the car. The mounting clip is huge and hideous looking and you can't not help see them looking at of the windshield. So, I cannot recommend the rain-x blades and will never go down that road again. |

really good advice! myself, have OEM blades on both 01 Fozzie and 98 RSTi $7.50 LIST each for rubber blade only (you can get for cheaper online) those AM blades/arms work fine or better......but are usually not avail after a year or so. so you have to buy an entire arm again after the old AM ones wear out. EVERYTIME I go to buy from parts counter "are u sure you want these? they aren't going to fit if you have non OE arms." yeah man I know...….. |

Bosch Icons are a solid choice. They've been great for me.

the $6 ones at walmart... changed annually. Also dont discount rainX... great stuff.
Youll never drive in rain w/o it regardless of how fast your wipers are. |

Any used for the job. Coming from the pnw we hear it rains all the time out there. Blah blah, and use some good rain repellent spray on it and will be good. ***129305;***127997;

Always had good luck with valeo ultimates andbosch icons, get at least 2 years out of both in cold tahoe winters and hot high desert summers

Personally, I've been buying the cheapo blades from Rockauto.com. $2.50 per blade and they usually last quite long considering the price. Much better than the $15 blades ime.
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...per+blade,8852 I've had good results with ANCO and Napa economy blades. I usually load up on blades for my ride and the wife to save on shipping and make it more economical. |

Bosch Icons are the best blades I have found. Amazon typically sells 2 packs in the appropriate sizes for most vehicles.
One of the biggest issues I had was with the different performance of wipers in summer vs winter. I used the Anco winter wipers and they were great with snow and ice, but I didn't think they did a great job in the summer. What I really didn't want to have to do was change wipers per season - it's enough trouble with wheels/tires. I think they Bosch Icons finally hit the mark for all season performance. |

I'll second the Bosch icons, they're not the absolute best winter blade buy they work year-round and don't lift at high speed either. Try rockauto to get them for a reasonable price.

If you want a slightly cheaper option than the Icons, Bosch also makes a blade called Evolution. I haven't found a difference besides the price.

+1 for PIAA silicone- I tried a lot and was never happy (or they wore out too fast). I can’t say enough about the PIAA’s on my bugeye wagon. One problem I found with blade-style wipers was they were not flexible enough and would skip spots...

I tried bosh icons a few years ago and had terrible streaks. I then went to michelin stealth xt wiper blades (Hybrid) and were quiet happy with them. I then see a bunch of folks suggesting PIAA blades. I went with PIAA Silicone Tri-Tech (Beam blade I believe) on a brand new windshield on my 2015 wrx and the passenger blade just streaks. I don't seem to have any luck with "Beam blades" on my 2015 WRX, even with a brand new windshield. Is it the angle of the windshield or what? I spent 50.00 + on the Piaa Si-tech ones and I am not very happy with them after 2-3 uses.
