Unhappy Please tell me this is not true

Hey...........I am pretty new to the Rex, but i am very interested. i have done a lot of research on it. but a friend of mine told me that a guy who works at a dealership said that subaru is going to discontinue the WRX sedan in the next year or two and only have the wagon because sales are not as good as projected. This is completly opposite of everything i have heard about the car. Just wanted to know if you guys have heard anything like that or does my friend not know what in the hell he is talking about. thanks

From what i've heard they have upped production more than once for the 2002 model year, so there sale have been greater than expected. With the hopes of the STi coming I doubt they would cancel it anytime soon.

It's totally true. The sales of the sedan sucked and the wagon RULES!!!

Wait.. no... get your sedan. I like the uniquness of the wagon.

You friend must know my friend, Jack Schitt? They may have gone to school together.

THey originally were going to just have 10,000 WRX's produced, 2,000 of them wagons. Well production was upped to 12Keven before the 1st car hit our shores and now it's said producion is at 18,000.

This car isn't going anywhere in the near future.

Yeah? Well the Aunt of my Nieces' hairdresser met the tailor of the manicurist of the receptionist at a used car dealership that sometimes gets a Subie in, and she said that the WRX will soon be rebadged as the new, performance Lincoln/Mercury Swankmobile.

I feel this is a pretty reliable source, FWIW.

Kick your friend in the nuts, and tell him to pass it on to the guy in the dealership. BTW, when you do get one... don't buy it there; wagon or sedan.

Dealerships make a living at lying... So any rumor you get from them is less reliable than just about anything.
