Default You know you're a hardcore WRX owner when...

...you spend 1.5hrs out in the 24 degree cold installing your new K&N filter, pulling that rubber grommet off the stock airbox, and installing new roof mouldings to replace the stock wagon roof rack

this may have been done before, but the cold made me lazy to search..

Then there are the hardcore RS owners..

When ya change your tranny fluid to synthetic to get better cold weather shifting in January.

When ya change from winter tires to summer tires on a day to day basis depending on the chance of snow.

Engine and tranny mounts when it is 10 degrees out.

Special mention for Rao who changed his clutch while snow was still dripping off the car.

When ya change your coilover height and dampening after romping through the snow and finding your settings are a little too stiff and too low.

---

Yeah, we're all nuts on this board.

I installed my original used part (V3 wing on my GC6) in sub15 deg. weather in front of my house and my FHI 20mm rear sway bar in sub 30 deg. weather in my garage with the door open.

I think I'm just stupid not crazy...

post some pics when you get a chance. I've been wanting to de-rail my wagon, but have a few other mods that have priority first.

Here is my friend Dana's car... de-railed is a very, very nice look.

I've got to get around to this.

Thanks - Jon

when you install a turbo kit outside in 30-40 degree weather....
In the rain.....
And it takes 2 days.

When you are still installing new parts AT THE TRACK for those last few tenths.

When you realizes your mods amount to several times your retirement account.

"When ya change your tranny fluid to synthetic to get better cold weather shifting in January." -been there done that.

you can give the date and viscosity of your last oil change, but cant remember your GF's b-day.

How about "You have so many aftermarket parts on your car that you consider trying to register it as a kit car.

you remove your beefed up rear sway bar, that is currently encrusted with a quarter inch of road salt crystals, to take the car in for service, then decided to install the upgraded shift bushing just because you have access to a jack, even though all your tools are 10 degrees to the touch but you cannot find your insulate work gloves so you have to work with paper thin Nitrile rubber gloves, and you've run out of kerosene for the space heater....Now that's nuts.

when you're a po' college student, and you have no garage, no light, no heat, it's night, and still doing installs in the dead of winter (the MRT was in my buddy's garage).

i was a little drunk (maybe very) trying to talk my buddies into helping me with a pulley install at 4 AM right after a night of partying, last quarter in the dead of winter, outside in the dark. that wasn't hardcore... that was just stupid
