But still no moonroof though, unfortunately.

I'm 5' 8", so the moonroof wouldn't obstruct. Also I don't track my car, so weight isn't an issue. And because of growing up in Alaska, the darkness leaves me hugely depressed, so a moonroof is my " happy light". It was tough not having one in my BRZ, but I stayed busy driving out of Alaska and lived in NY/NJ for a bit. My Impreza has a moonroof and I love that thing.

If the VB moonroof is like the VA, it rattles. So, you’ll just keep the cover closed anyway.

My music is always blasting, so I don't mind rattles. I have it in the lifted open position too if I have the cover open, even during winter. I let the heat out and let in that FAA, brah. (Fresh Ass Air)

Lol. I haven’t opened a moonroof in years. Glass roof is my preference. I used to drive everything open in the old days. Now, A/C on auto and music at a normal level.

After reading your previous comment about the moonroof rattling on the VA's. I was like how did he survive the GD and GR models. Everything rattled in those cars and that was ok and is still ok with me. I love getting into both my 02 WRX and my 07 Forester XT and just driving them with no music and windows down. Just enjoying the rawness of what they are and listening to every rattle over every crack in the road, which is a lot in Michigan.

Uck you old, and not in the fun way.

The only noise I never like is the cargo box on my roof racks. Even with my wind guard, that thing is LOUD. Just be howlin'. I think a solid roof would dampen the noise a bit, but the world may never know.

I was 19 when I got my GD, and about 23 for the GH. Both were new. So, I accepted more rattles but overall the GD was built well. The 2008/2011 sedan had a terrible rear shelf rattle. Neither had a problem with the moonroof.

My 2018 STI and 2019 Crosstrek moonroofs rattled.

Aren’t we close in age?

The OEM roof bars on my 2008 WRX screamed. I made a ghetto-rigged Thule fairing. Helped a lot.

I think the newer Thule bars are quieter?

We are, but I'm the fun one.

I've heard the new bars are much quieter. I'll have to investigate as I only have the OEM ones from 2017. And I have the Yakima fairing, which is a beast as it takes a proper beating.

I second this, a glass roof would be nice to have

This I have to agree with you on. I may like something; but, they just sound over the top when reacting.

I know the Aeroflow paint matched cladding has already been discussed on here, but they just released a video of a white WRX without many outlandish changes. Pretty much just painted bumpers, fenders, and a lip. How it should come from the factory, IMHO.

Looks much better.
This color sure outlines my gripe with this design.
The eyes (lights) shrunk in size and the rest of the face (grill and plastic pieces) increased. Everything just looks off.

Yep. I've described it at as Wombat (little eyes and big nose). The paint doesn't fix that problem.

I finally got a chance to test-drive one of these off the lot, a '23 Limited with the SPT short-throw shifter. I put about 15 miles on it, and thought I'd share my...thoughts:

Engine: Well-tuned, smooth, linear. Not as exciting as turbo engines of old, but easier to live with and plenty of power IMO. Too quiet from the factory as usual, and while it didn't have a ton of character, the exhaust note was deep and reasonably sporty. The salesperson said he has a '22 and averages around 28mpg, which is encouraging as I do a lot of highway driving.

Transmission: One of my favorite parts of the car. The shifter was a joy; very direct and the right kind of notchy. Next to no rev hang! Clutch was light and had good feel, rev-matched downshifts were easy to do.

Brakes: Didn't work them very hard, but for the street they seem fine to me; good initial bite, pretty progressive feel.

Suspension/handling: This is where it reminded me of what it's like to drive a WRX. I took it down a twisty side road back to the dealership fast enough to make the salesperson sqirm a little bit, and the handling was splendid. VERY composed suspension and body control, inspired a lot of confidence to push harder, and the car felt very neutral. Steering wasn't razor sharp and not much of anything in the way of feedback, but it was very direct. A lot of people have said the ride is pretty stiff....to me, it felt appropriately firm overall.

Interior: I wish the driver's seat could be lowered more. Even at the lowest setting I was higher up than I wished to be. I'm 5'9 and 170lbs and found it to be a comfortable cabin, didn't take much to find an ideal driving position. The accessory armrest is a must-have, the factory one is way too low. Surprisingly quiet at highway speeds, although I'm used to my Crosstrek with chopped all-terrains lol.

Overall, I walked away liking the car quite a bit, more than I thought I would and more so than the last WRX I drove, which was a '16 Limited. Seems like a great option as an only-car.

Agreed. It’s a WRX, like any other. Just in a cheap suit.

Fuelly is showing a reported range from 16mpg to 38mpg for the VA, the majority of owners reporting in the 23-26mpg range.
There are fewer instances of owners recording 18mpg than 30mpg.
The data shows that a tank averaging 28mpg is more likely than a tank averaging 18mpg; that's not a statement of confirmation, rather than both are within the realm of possibility when looking at what has been reported by owners.

Well I have no choice but to accept that data. It is as unbiased as it can get. I have only owned 9 Turbo Subarus, all of which never broke 20mph per tank unless it was a long freeway and then maybe 26 was the best I could do. But if that is what Fuelly said, then its hard to argue with data. My drive is very much stop and go with short stints in between lights.
