fixed the breather port issue and brake cleaned some stuff, drove around my neighborhood for about 10 minutes with no foul smell of burning oil, thats good news.

front end of my car is at the paint shop so can't drive it around to see if the charcoal cannister was being any type of culprit in my fuel mileage issue.

Seemed to have been the massive vaccuum leak i found and the charcoal cannister issue i fixed. Dont know which one fixed it but they both needed to be fixed either way and the car doesnt smell anymore and gas mileage has improved tremendously.

I am curious, what did u do to the charcoal canister that u believe helped and did u see anything that said if there was a life span on it?
Glad your ride is doin btr, im lookin to gine tune mine now. I want 400 miles to a full tank again. I used to get it in my modded untuned 03 in Hawaii driving through the mountains often. So Va is no excuse for this 340 stuff.

Thanx
Mario

This was an odd read.

But either way..

I was getting about 8mpg on the street on E85, granted a decent size turbo and big injectors. I had an EVAP issue I couldn't figure out. Charcoal canister kept getting soaked with fuel.. I ripped the whole EVAP system out after a few days of troubleshooting and replacing parts.
My EVAP code had been deleted without me even seeing it so I was
Turned out to be a bad seal on the fuel pump assy -> gas tank.

Only thing i could imagine up is that since the cannister was clogged, and since i could only fill my tank a quarter of a gallon at a time there was so much pressure in the system it was inadvertently raising the fuel pressure going through the system, It did smell of fuel quite a bit. After clearing out the charcoal cannister and reconnecting the hose to the valve cover fuel mileage went up to 250 plus.up from the previous miserable mileage and I changed nothing else.

I cant say for sure, have only had a fully built motor in one subaru. This one. Car was capable of more. It could have probably used a retune as well. But it ran real well and kept your head in the seat.

I sold the car last week to help get some of the funds I need to get my own body and paint shop off the ground. Its quite a bit of startup money. I did all the needed bodywork and resprayed the exterior of the car..holy hell she was gorgeous and absolutely perfect.. I guess thats why it sold for my asking price in a week and no haggling. I redo all my cars and they sell pretty quick.

Heres the paint thread..

Sucked to say goodbye but I had to look at the big picture. Ill get another one soon enough.

haha. Ive been doing body and paint for quite a while and have a stellar reputation for high quality work, which is why after so long Ive decided to start up my own little place, when that will be is the question. Was hoping to be up and running by july but will need quite a bit more funds to get fully operational. We shall see what happens. Don't need a tester of any sort, I need paying customers.

Sold for 23k. Im sure I could have got more but didn't want to sit on the car for 8 months like I have seen the others cars I was watching do. That's just more money out of my pocket and more money on insurance. It was excellent kbb value so that's what I put it up for and got it with no questions asked.

I have some things I'd like done to both cars..

Mainly the mr2. It looks like its been keyed a few times  has some dents.. And its green :yuck:

Side skirts, hard top, front lip and fresh paint will probably help me sell it.
If I keep it I was planning on plasti-dipping it
