Long Center Rear
Ken,
You're probably very busy and that's why I've gotten no response in a while. I'm still giving you the benefit. Scooby Don't and I have long center rear section. The replacement piece you sent to him is still too long. This is dragging on too long, I think, and I think it'd be easy to just get a local shop to modify the offending pipe (if possible) and invoice you for the charges. My hangers are being stretched and I don't know if they'll last as a result. The exhaust sounds good but the two of us are the only ones that have fitment issues. Please impress me. Mark |

Thanks for the update on Scooby Don't - I somehow thought that his problems had been fixed, will get up with him as well.
Did you receive your replacement pipe? If so, that obviously did not fix the issues... Perhaps we could have a phone discussion about this at your convenience? I'd like to drive into a fix for you as we typically don't have fitment trouble... Thanks for your patience! Ken

CEL fixes
Thanks guys!
We thought that the CEL fixes were coming with the last shipment that arrived (early this week) but found that they are coming on the next pallet (departed today, will be here next week - first week in Feb). There are 20 CEL fixes on that pallet, with more coming (we have 75 on order total). We will start shipping chronologically - should just barely get to those of you who were in the infamous exhaust buy on this shipment, but will have to continue perhaps with the next set. Regards, Ken

Hey Lenyx
Lenyx,
Have been thinking about drivetrain resistance and your issue - what fluids are you using in your tranny and diffs? We like Redline MTL, or a similar oil... costly but worth it. I'd use a heavier Redline gear oil in the rear diff, stay with the viscosity in the manual or your preference. The stuff really does help with driveline power loss. Also, we have been put onto Royal Purple motor oil... it is no kidding worth 5hp, we know the guy that was present at the dyno runs and he kept trying to disprove it... now is touting the stuff himself. RedLine, Amsoil and others are also good, but Royal Purple may be the best. On the dyno - big dyno run this weekend in the UK, should get some nice figures to post with different sections of the system, of course on UK cars. Ken

Ken, I've been using Mobil dino oil since the beginning in the engine... haven't touched the transmission fluid yet.
At the point I'm leaning towards 3 things that could be the cause of the problem. 1. My air filter. I'm not so sure I closed the air box properly after I installed it. A leaky intake could probably have dragged my hp down. 2. My CEL.. nobody has confirmed for me whether or not the o2 sensors in the exhaust play any sort of major role in determining A/F ratio. From what I've read.. they do affect it at least a little.. from my understanding the car tries to adjust a/f and timing to get the cleanest burn possible. 3. Winter gas. I'm not really leaning towards this one as much since everyone else there was running off of pump gas as well. I've secured the air box properly.. once you send me a cel fix I'm going to reset the ecu and go for another dyno run. I'm hoping I won't have the same results. |

?
How many miles are on the car at this point? We like using a crappy oil in the engine for the first few k miles, then switching to a better oil after initial break in... not that this would cause the problem mind you, just a tangent.
Interesting thought on the CEL. I'll get you one as soon as possible - KC

Good to here I am the only one... Kind of.
Well, I have to say that Ralley Performance is a good company and they have tried to right my wrong. I had order some Speedline wheels in September of 2001 and I still can't put them on my car. One was damaged in transit by UPS. Maybe due to the fact that they were in stock packaging, maybe because UPS treated them like crap. Then my local tire shop decided scratching the crap out of the other was a good idea. But that was all at least 4 months ago. To make things worse I have three sets of lugnuts for my Subaru and one set for I don't know what. I haven't got a new set of lugs nor the two wheels that were ordered 4 months ago. Apparently this has something to do with Scooby Sport in the UK or Speedline in Italy. Either way I have four wheels and tires that would do for now only I have 3 sets of lugs. I am very disappointed in that fact, but I would like to repeat it appears that Rally Performance is doing an adequate job of getting this taken care of. However, I still have no idea when these wheels are coming. So buy Speedlines at your own risk! Thanks for listening to me rant.

Speedlines
Your post is well taken James - and you've certainly had a long wait with these. James had bought the Speedlines in 17" from us, and actually the 17s are not a commonly stocked item... ScoobySport has also had a hard time getting these in from the factory, and have not seen any since James' original order. I have gotten an encouraging word on them however and do hope to have them soon.
In the meantime, I can get you the lug nuts immediately - will confess that we were so focused on the wheels that the lug nuts had slipped our mind. I will cannibalize a set from one of the 18" wheels in existing stock and get them to you. We have not seen this problem with the 18" Speedlines, only the 17s - and as a result I have been informing customers of the supply problem on the 17" size. Thanks for your patience, and your professional approach to this - hope to have it resolved for you soon. Regards, Ken Cole Rally Performance

CELs
Hi Nate!
Yep, have gotten the first 20 in and are going through sending them out now... had to get them out in the order that the downpipes were first sold in for the new car. I believe that you are in the end of this first batch, yours should be going out early this week! ... so is your car past 400 hp yet? Ken RP

thanks, its nice to know that these are finally comming... anyway, as for your question about the HP... i am looking to have about that much at the wheels by this time next month. I have a T3/T4, 660cc injectors, a new A/L intercooler and lots of other little goodies that are going to be installed and dyno tuned in the next few weeks. Don't know if i'll make the first 2002 wrx into the 11s over here, but i expect to very deep 11s when the time comes for me to run at the strip again. The real trick has been keeping life easy on the transmission. The clutch gave out at low 12s. Replaced that with a nice AP group N rally clutch (highly recomend this to anyone looking to go easy on their transmission but needs more holding power) and so far so good. There is either something about my granny shifting driving style that keeps this thing alive or somehow i got a factory freak... This season should be fun... Stroker motor, dog box, and LOTS more boost... thanks again on the CEL eliminators... i have moved since you sold me the exhaust though... i'll pm you my address. -Nathan |

Ken Cole
Ken Cole,
I should have mentioned that I bought these 17" with the knowledge that they where not nearly as popular as the 18" I just wasn't aware that they were this rare. Anyway, Ken has been diligantly working with Scoobysport and Speedline to get these. Thank you Ken for you help and thanks for getting me some lugs. James |
