Hiroo Sumida runs (or at least did last year) 225/45-17 Azenis under his 2000 2.5RS Sedan for national level STS autocross. He needed to run rear camber plates to gain proper clearance in the rear. He is quite low, but also has some fairly stiff (500-600#) spring rates.

The Azenis tend to run quite wide for a 225 tire.

I ran a '99 2.5RS at some events with 215/45-17 Toyo T1-S, and had plenty of clearance for more tire. Again, quite low, lots of springs, and he was running Model 7 17x7.5 wheels.

Hope this helps.

my car has pretty much 0 gap, and I run the 225/45/17s azenis. BUT, the front and rear lips have been rolled in, they rubbed before.

That's just fundamentally wrong, don't you agree?

One would think it'd be uniform. But no, it's like buying pants: depends where you shop. For me, some 34s fit, some reeeeeally don't!
