Considering that Swaintech is $225 plus shipping, etc, people would probably consider it especially since it's removable and can benefit in the resale market.

I'm not sure if you're asking if it's made with a cutout for a EWG return, or if an EWG was blowing right on it.

It's not designed with a hole for a EWG return, but it should still be able to work.

I wouldn't recommend having a EWG blowing right on it. It will damage it over time.

It shouldn't have a problem fitting a 4" downpipe, it'll fit over our 3" with a cat just fine.

It depends which Invidia catted downpipe you have. It will only fit on the catted DP with the single oxygen bung sensor. It will not fit on the 2 oxygen bung sensor catted Invidia DP, b/c there is no cut out on the blanket for the top oxygen bung sensor.

Fitment will be tighter on the catted Invidia single O2 bung DP, and I have heard some guys say that it doesn't completely cover the DP, all though it is still effective at heat reduction (you might have to buy a longer aftermarket wire to tie it down).

As I understand it, the Perrin DP thermal blanket best fits on catless single oxygen bung applications (i.e. Invidia, Perrin, etc.).

I bought the thermal blanket for a 2 bung Invidia catted DP and it did not fit.

Thank you for relaying this information to us! Is it possible to have you send me some photos how the blanket did/didn't work? We would like to make the blankets as universal as possible.

Thank you!

The blanket WOULD fit size wise, but there is no cut out for the oxygen sensor that is closest to the turbo. I thought about cutting a hole in the blanket, but decided against it.

Invidia Downpipe with the second oxygen sensor:

Thread resurrect!!! Installed mine today. Modified because nothing I touch is ever left alone.

I had a friend weld a bung in the Perrin DP. And then I seperated the thread at one of the seams to make a hole. Then I sewed up the blanket to reinforce the hole with some aramid heat resistant thread.

I think I am going to tie some safety wire around where the down pipe gets close to the firewall. the rubbing bugs me. May never be an issue, but I cannot stand a hot thing touching the firewall.

I have a question if anyone is still following this. So, I live in Alaska where we see some pretty extreme weather from snowy winters to some rainy summers. Shipping my downpipe to get coated would probably cost me over $500 and the weather would eventually damage heat wrap, so neither of those are an option for me. Would this heat blanket hold up against these elements?

The blanket will be fine in cold temps, even up there. Rain will be fine as well, we've been using this on our cars in Oregon for years, and they work great!

Awesome, that's what I wanted to hear! Thanks! You would not believe what the shipping cost would be to send my downpipe to Swaintech:/
I might be moving down to Oregon in the near future, can't wait.

A few questions, I have a mazda project that i'm doing so the questions will sound a little odd. The down pipe blanket how long is it and whats the max. downpipe size you can wrap? Also, you T3/T4 turbo blanket would it fit the k04 turbo, I'm just worrying about size, wouldn't it be too small?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, the blanket is about 17.5" long overall. The blanket is made for a 3" pipe, it can wrap a bigger pipe, but it might not be covering the whole way. It has the bend of the downpipe built into it, so if it's going on a straight pipe, or a pipe that is a different shape, it might not fit right.

I'm not sure on the turbo blanket, I believe the T3/T4 turbos are bigger. We make them specifically to fit the Garrett T3/T4. If you have a link you could send to me of your individual turbo I can check it out, thanks!

Did you install the blanket with downpipe already installed on a car?

Honestly, it was so long ago I don't remember. But it isn't that hard to install and lace it up when on the car. It will be easier to install with out the heat shield though.
