running too rich
it seems to me that my car has been running waaaay to rich. my egt's are not coming anywhere close to 1400, and the one time i tried getting them up by driving at 5k rpm for about a minute i hit the 1340 mark. just wanting to be sure that this is ok, or if my car is running super rich.
and would it be possible that a reset ecu would help, as i have installed a downpipe and unpipe and not reset it yet |

1340F or 726C, seems a bit on the low side, not that it's bad or anything. i've got my probe the same distance from the heads as you. the closest setup to you that i've had is an uppipe and bosal downpipe and stock ecu, and i would hit about 790C max , 1454F (4th gear WOT uphill). when i was running a unichip with it i could get up to 840C which is a bit higher than i would have liked. all you have is the vishnu uppipe and helix downpipe, right? you could reset the ECU and do some runs to get the ECU to adapt to a different driving habit/pattern, that would probably make a difference.

I'm guessing it's all black with soot? Mine's like that, too, and I have a turbo XS exhaust with a cat.

I just finished a round trip to California, and I noticed a difference in my egt's with the change of gas formulations. With the wintergas at home, I was seeing about 1300 as the temp at 70mph in 5th. But with the summer formulations in the south, I was getting a tad over 1400. Food for thought.
