My autometer remote install is holding up solid as well.

Hangs around 80 lbs when driving and bumps down to 25 lbs at stop lights.

My sender is about 1.25" in diameter & 2.25 in length. It definitely would require a remote line. Not sure if autometer makes a smaller oil pressure sender.

The one I'm going to install is the 2446 sensor, tiny. The one I currently use is the huge gold type with two terminals, and it fits in the rear oem location although very snug.

This is awesome. Used this for my sender relocation last night and man was $10 well better than the OTS offered for $50-$60. Thanks for this.

I know this thread is kinda old, but maybe someone will answer me. I just got a grease gun hose and the female-female fitting. about to order the gallery plug. But when i take the end piece off the hose (not sure what the piece is called but it obv wont fit with it on) there is a little bearing kinda ball in there, do i take that ball out or leave it in??

Is the bearing located inside the grease fitting (center of picture) or inside the hose? If its inside the hose, i would get a different hose. If its not in the hose, and located inside the grease fitting, why would you take out the bearing?

The bearing is between the hose and grease fitting, but kind of sits in the end of the hose. (it'll fall right out if i tilt the hose), and there is a spring sticking out of the grease fitting that holds it tight in place when the fitting is screwed onto the hose.

And its the only grease gun hose they had in home depot lol -_-

Ya get rid of that bearing, spring, and everything else minus the hose + threads. A bearing could block the pressure from the sender. You don't want that.

Oh yea, this is a noob question, but when i install the sender with the hose, should the oil pressure sensor be lower than the gallery plug? Like so the oil can flow downhill to the sender? Or does that not matter lol.

Ok so im getting a little frustrated, apparently the ball bearing was inside the grease fitting cause i guess i unscrewed the grease fitting in half. Now this nut is stuck on the end of the hose..

This is supposed to come off right? I have been trying to get it off with 2 wrenches and it will not budge, my dad wasnt able to get it apart either. wtf, has anyone else had this problem??

Bump because I had this problem. Lightly, very lightly heat it up then go at it with the wrenches again

So from reading this tread I am slightly confused, I have the performace series prosport oil pressure gauge. Will the OEM galley plug work with this DIY kit?

just out of curiosity and because i have the stuff lying around here, couldnt i use the copper lines and fittings used for the mechanical oil gauge to make this instead of the grease gu n hose?

Why would you want a mech/electrical sensor of any kind? You have a 100% accuracy with a mechanical sensor........why would you want to send direct pressure from a foolproof oil supply line to a electronic sensor that manipulates the pressure reading into a digital readout? I mean if your connection is faulty at the mech gauge inside the cabin...i see where that would be a prob( oil leaking into cabin possibly). Thats like sayin " im not comfortable with fuel lines running under my backseat because of a potential leak". If its connected correctly....its not gonna leak. What i see is accuracy issues with the interpretaion of the anolog to digital signal. Just not as reliable as a TRUE mechanical connection. Nothing is more accurate than that.

ok yourr not getting what i mean i guess... i have electric gauge, now, i want do same method as this only i would use the copper line to go from oil galley adapter to the sending unit... i know itll work but just wanted to see what ppl thought... same process as the grease gun hose except its a copper line...

Thanks to Vision.dynamix for the idea.

Installed pictures from today (used heat reflective tape on oil pressure sender and applied a lot of dielectric grease)

Most important:

Cold idle (Prosport EVO digital gauge)

Removing the stock OEM oil pressure sensor does not cause your oil light on the dash to come on or the ECM to throw a CEL?
