Default '06 catback

Does anyone know whats years WRX catback will fit a '06 2.5i? Is it only the '06 or do other years work? Also what are the size of the exhaust for the different years(if there are different)?

None of the years of WRX catback will bolt right up...they will ALL be about 3" too short in the midpipe, and the flange will be rotated the wrong way. That being said, ALL of the WRX axlebacks will bolt up to the 2.5i...so if you get a WRX catback: 1) get the midpipe lengthened, and the flange rotated, and 2) bolt on the axleback....done!

If you have an STi or WRX catback you can cut the downpipe just before the second cat and your original cat pipe between the two cats. The two then line up perfectly and just need a reducer to be able to weld them together.

IOW:

n/a header > n/a catpipe (splice) turbo downpipe > turbo midpipe > turbo axleback

i thought that all 06's had the same exhaust set up except for diameter. I am not 100% on that though

It's a different story if you are talking about axelbacks and catbacks for the 06' imprezas. All 06' axelbacks are interchangable without any issues. Catbacks on the other hand require modifications.
