Default Is My Car Mute??

So two diff. times today some woman has decided that a red light was an optional stop when going straight.

Two times I had to lock my brakes, slam the horn and go WFT!

Maybe my car is mute? Stock horn must suck if ppl don't hear it unless its 2 feet from their door?

-Supertones... an idea... but after lookin @ youtube they don't seem that much louder....

-Train horn idea - Love it... wish it was legal.

So - what can I do? How loud can i go before its illegal?.... And what can I use to get to that level?

I'm so sick of these ppl that run reds and damn near kill me.

I'd imagine there are city ordinances on decimal levels.

Check Surprise's city website and try and find out what is the legal decimal level.

I think that sounds correct.

I figure if there is a cop there to ticket you for a loud horn, then he should see the jackass you were honking at and be too concerned to bother with you. Hell, maybe it will even get the cops attention and these no-paying-attention POSs might actually start getting tickets.

Back in HS, a friend of mines dad worked for a railroad and was able to get us a real train horn; they are BIG. It required a rather large air tank which we mounted in the bed of his pickup. Sometimes we used to park along side the track at night pointing towards the road. When cars would come over the crossing, we'd hit the high beams and blow the horn. My ears are still ringing... Good times...

My buddy bought a train horn for vehicles, it had 3 horns.

He hooked up his house compressor to it and it got stuck, blaring in the neighborhood for like a straight minute.

Neighbors down the street were coming out of their houses.

ive had a couple sets of hornblasters in my old trucks, wouldn't do it on a car though.. http://youtube.com/results?search_qu...&search=Search

at about 175 psi, they were the loudest horns ive ever heard. i used to scare the **** outta ppl lol. i got so many people to actually jump in surprise, even when i warned them i was gonna blast it.

lol - can you picture the roof of our cars w/ that setup?

After the death of my WRX I started getting into video recordings... (been almost a year and insurance is still suing each other

So i figure video proof ... how can they argue it?

All I need is a camera and I will start the dumb drivers of AZ website.

Till then, I think we should rig our cars so when you hit the horn your High Beams - or Any other light you have... will turn on..
maybe the added light will get attention... if they somehow missed the 3k lb car heading right for them....

Edit:

OMGHi2U

supertones are loud but not ridiculous. nothing is really going stop stupid people. the only way to get their attention is the train horn but by then its too late anyways and they'll probably just cause an accident cause they are caught off guard by a "train" where a track doesnt exist

Exclamation

Stage 1 of my master plan is in works.

devilstime.org is up - but needs A Lot of work. (just a basic install atm)

Once its done anyone will be able to post content (picts/vids/etc...) of the Jackass who did something dumb. I hope it will become a nice place for ppl to rant about everything and anything they want. Showcase will be stuff like in car vids where we can share our 'near misses' and what not.

Current thinking is to have each jackass known by their own license plate. So the whole world knows what an ass they are.

I more than open to ideas on it - so please don't hold out.

That whole website sounds just as dangerous for the ones contributing to it as the jackass drivers.... .02 cents

i think you should just drive in another city. nobody in phoenix looks before jumping across lanes, nobody pays any attention to stop lights/signs. nobody knows how to mfkn merge. nobody knows how to drive.

except subie drivers

Thats kinda my point... Ppl will never change till the issue is pointed out. Changing the masses is just far too complex. Now maybe we can change one @ a time. Slower.. but a sure win.

I think its worth a shot... better than doing nothing.
