1-Engine management - COBB AP -> Pretty much the same price as ECUTek but includes free tuning software if you want to try to self-tune or make tweaks to a map provided by your tuner.
2-Header combo - No idea
3-Up - Stock STI or GrimmSpeed
4-Dp - Maddad whisper TBE
5-Cat-back - See 4.
6-Suspension - KYB AGX (or GR2) with RCE Yellow springs
7-Rims and Tires - anything narrower than 8" wheels and 225 wide tires. 8" + 225 tires are a recipe for rubbing.

I think your car's ECU should be a test mule for SubieSMART.

Stock STI headerback is the most baller you can get for the money, IMO. It would really help your WRX breathe. They sound nice, too.

This kid sold it to me with the engine in four pieces. The #4 piston is missing a chunk and the block needs a visit to the machine shop, it's salvageable. Overall the car is in great shape. The car needs a new front bumper and it could use a visit to Dent Wizard. All that will come after I get the motor in.

Wuz wondering how many of u guys swapped in the entire WRX wiring harness, opposed to cutting what u need out of the WRX harness and splicing it into the RS harness? I prefer the second method. I'm sure both methods take just as much time...

i did a V4 Sti swap GC-GC and used entire JDM STi wiring harness. it was much faster and simpler this way. but GD to GC iirc under dash plugs are different. a WRX ECU would be easy to use if you went full GD wiring though.

i would use OEM everything to start with because 1) it's legos and it'll all fit, and it gives a good baseline/reference point for tuning, mods, etc.

--keith

and im jealous of the $1700 shell as well

Na man, I leave the RS harness in place, cut the WRX ecu connectors, splice them into the RS harness and plug the WRX ecu in. Of course it's a little more complicated than that, but that's what I do...

your golden then

but back to your original question
i see NO reason to spend the extra $500 for an ecutek/AP tune go open source

i would also skip the headers and spend the $ on a turbo/injectors instead

Right Jaxx...Got of track.

What do u mean about open source tuning, I was leaning toward AP as before, but thought I would try something diff. I like the idea about forgoing the headers and going for turbo and inj. So I sould look for catless oem sit header?
