Default short throw shifter lever install help!

hey i have the sti short throw shifter lever without any bushings....i was wondering if anyone can help me out in installing this bad boy.....pics or a brief tutorial in how to do it will help nicely..thanks!

NOTE: it is not the whole assembly....nor any bushings....jus the sti short throw shifter lever (rod that connects to shift knob)

in the wrx/rs it is extremely easy, i dont know about the STi. i got a kartboy SS for my RS. install in 20 mintues (at most)

FOR AN RS
-trim off
-pop shifter out
-plastic hammer new shifter in
-trim on

If it's the gold one from the Subaru short throw kit, it won't work with your linkage (well, it might, but not without some additional work) - the part where you bolt to the linkage is smaller than what you will find in the WRX (it is the same size as in the GC8) - not sure if you can transfer your bushings over or not - maybe with a bunch of washers as spacers, you could get it to work well...

Yep you can't install just the lever from the STi setup on a stock WRX linkage, it won't fit. You either need to change the whole linkage, or get a short throw lever made for the WRX such as the Kartboy.
So for now don't waste your time trying to install a part that doesn't work, get the right thing first.

I have a cobb double adjustable with the STi linkage on mine. I know what you guys are talking about though the STI linkage is skinnier than the stck wrx linkage. I had a special fabrication done to the linkage to get my Cobb shifter to work. I believe I am one of the few on here if not the only one that has it done.

eggactly! the width of the shifters are different.
