My Photos from the Thunderbird Rally, Canada
Well, i am home, back in the UK. I cant sleep at all so here are some of my favourite shots from the TBird Rally. I am a lucky SOB being able to do this and having such great friends over in Seattle.
Its hard to believe just 12 months ago i didnt know either Jamie or Richard, amazing what friends you can make from a meeting aranged on the internet because of a common interest in Subaru's and Motorsport. I hope you enjoy the photo's. Just after tech inspection, it's -12 celcius, bit nippy. <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/Jamiestart.jpg" border=0> Yes Jamie, stage 2 is next up. (my favourite shot of the rally) <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/JamieIncar2.jpg" border=0> Startline for the frozen lake ice racing track <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/JamieIncar4.jpg" border=0> Pre-Final stage of the rally, Camera in hand as always <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/Jamiebrigebridge1.jpg" border=0> Some of the stunning scenery of British Columbia, wish i was back there now, the photo's cant do it justice. <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/bridge1.jpg" border=0> RangeRover crossing the suspension bridge, about the only time it wasnt off track all event! <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/bridge2.jpg" border=0> InCar on the Frozen Lake Ice racing course, that was a lot of fun. <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/incaronice.jpg" border=0> One of the faster sections of a TBird stage, one of the few oportunities i had to take a shot during a stage. <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/incaronstage.jpg" border=0> Waiting to start one of the regularity stages on day 1. <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/prestage1.jpg" border=0> Another pre-stage shot, Jamie out taking photos as usual. <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/prestage2.jpg" border=0> In transit to the start of the next regularity, even the transit roads were ice and snow covered. <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/transit1.jpg" border=0> Running alongside yet another frozen lake on the way to stage start. <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/transit2.jpg" border=0> The oposition, Richard Squire and Glenn Wallace running car 1 <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/wallaceandgrommet1.jpg" border=0> The office of a top TSD rally Team. <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/wallaceandgrommet2.jpg" border=0> Phew, we finished the rally in one piece and had a huge amount of fun along the way, i think the smile sums up the weekend, it was a lot of fun and an experience i will never forget. <IMG SRC="http://www.btinternet.com/~john.felstead/TbirdFavourites/Happyatthefinish.jpg" border=0> |

Thanks for the rally pics. What kind of camera did you use? Looked like fun. I love driving in the snow.

Thanks chuck, still all jet lagged hence checking the board for 5 mins before having another crack at some sleep.
My camera is a Kodak DC215 ZOOM Digital Camera. Unlike most digital camera's it uses an optical zoom so the definition is very high. I took the shots in the standard resolution setting to make the picture size ideal for a web site, i could have doubled the resolution. It cost me about $300 and i used a 32MB card, this let me take over 250 photos without downloading, pretty impresive piece of kit for the money. Glad you like the shots. Right, back to bed, work in 3 hours, ahhhhh |
