Took the RA for its first Autocross Points race of the year. I missed the first 2 sessions because of the rain dates, but currently am sitting 2nd overall in BStreet so far. Ended up going with a set of RE71R's for the season.

Check out the new Yoko A052's, a couple folks have been winning regional SCCA events with those. They apparently take heat a little better than RE71R's.

Tire Rack doesn't show them with 255 width tires tho. If I were to do any other tire I think it would be the Falkens as they are cheaper and maybe 95% of the RE71R.

Been a great summer with the car. Took a trip up to New Hampshire and Vermont and drove some amazing roads and stopped in at Wicked Big Meet.

My goal for this car was to make it as close to the JDM Type RA-R as I could. Trying to use as many oem upgraded parts as I can along the way.

My other project is a 1977 Jeep CJ7 with an AMC 401. Kind of a hot rod more than rock crawl

Archer - What are you using to host your pictures? For some reason I don't see any of them.
Maybe it's my work filters tho.. |

Ordered a whole bunch of S209 Parts direct from my local dealer. It took awhile to get the rear draw stiffener, but it finally came. I installed:

I installed each part individually, and the only thing I really felt was obviously the 20mm rear sway bar. However, once everything was in I set all of the draw stiffeners to loose and went and did a drive. Came back and adjusted them to their factory spec. The whole package works. The car turns in better and feels more nimble. The rear when cornering very sharply feels to stay flatter, I hope to see a difference on the AutoX course.
I still need the Flexible Strut Bar and the Rear Support Brace. Also, that rear flexible trunk brace made the damn packing shelf rattle worse!!!! |

Received my JDM S208 extended Subframe bolts and Subframe Stopper. These bolts are longer and thicker on the non threaded part. The idea is that all of the "S" series cars are handmade, and greater care can be taken to align the subframe to the body with less room for error. When this is done on the assembly line there needs to be some wiggle room.

Spent the past week or so slowly doing some paint correction on the RA. Just needed a basic clay, wax, and polish. I am no pro and am constantly learning about automotive detailing. Its definitely therapeutic.

The CJ7 Project Continues. Wired up the dash, ran HVAC cables, installed heater box assembly, and did final install on the dash itself.
