There is and it does.

This is the new RT6 that is the mixed fleet oil (gas/diesel). It has a higher HTHS than Resource Conserving/GF5 oil in order to meet the diesel spec, and HTHS is what keeps the bearings happy providing a thicker oil film.

Default 2015 STI Blown Motor Dead Stock

Man! I feel you! My motor had oil consumption issues and even though I checked my oil every other fill up at the gas station, it ended up popping! Oil was leaking through my oil control valve electrical unit and that's what they blamed the issue on.

Bluesubie, what are your thoughts on Castrol Magnatec synthetic oil? Supposedly the oil clings on to metal, longer.

So whats the real difference between the Rotella 5w-40 diesel and the 5w-30 multi vehicle oil? More phosphorus?
