Thanks guys! It's been a hot minute since I posted, so I'll provide a few updates:

I made my 3rd oil change on this build a few weeks ago back on the 14th and this was the same oil that I did the dynoday/rollracing/spirited driving on, and this was on the magplug:

Still a good amount of metal in there, and I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about. I'm gonna give it more time to wash out. Though I'm kind of thinking I should change oil soon to help with that and finally switch over to a thicker Motul or something like I've been planning to. This is what Blackstone had to say about it:

On the trunk/wing front, I haven't made any progress since I've been paying off unforeseen medical crap from back in April. Though I'm thinking I'll drop it off this week before I go out to Denver to finally get 'er done and get it mounted.

I love the way the car looks with the diffuser though, looks more aggressive, more purposeful. The plan is do a flat floor eventually. Here's a pic of two CnC events, first from 2 weeks ago and the other from last Saturday:

The one next to me above was the first STi in Omaha, all the way back in '04 and owned by a friend of mine. Hard to believe these cars are that old!

I finally saw a super-rare Messerschmitt KR200 in the wild, only ever seen pictures/videos of them, the very same company that made aircraft for the Luftwaffe in WWII. This was a car they made post-war and are basically irreplaceable. Suprised there's actually one in Omaha. He said he imported it recently; it was so cool to see in person:

Also there was this LS3-swapped foxbody(sacrilege!) that had a S400SX(I think he said that), which looks to be the roughly the same size as the one on the Blue Turd, which will put him at 1400whp once he's at full bore. It's definitely a BorgWarner of some kind. It was an interesting talk for sure and one of the biggest turbos I've seen on a street car:

Speaking of the Blue Turd, I'll finally see it this weekend as I said above I'm heading out to Denver for Street Car Takeover at Bandimere. Should be awesome to see it and other awesome cars do some running. It'll be good to see my tuner and the guys, and to see what another user's car does since I'm.....
.
.
.
thinking I'm gonna upgrade the STi next year to something similar to his car. Large and stock location, which means I have to start thinking about options and all the things that will need to be changed to accommodate for it. The car has been fun to drive for sure and I'm happy with how it is, but a little more excitement isn't bad, eh? I have been kicking myself lately for not doing any in-depth headwork when I had the motor apart, so that's been bugging me :|

Some to-dos:
- Need to reroute the AOS drainback line better, since I was never happy the way I did it originally, which means PITA intercooler removal and all that

- Need to measure the front ride height at the coilovers and lower them by 4mm

'til later.

Hello everyone...guess it's been a while. The car is roughly the same as it was at my last update, but with some changes:

- I've rerouted the AOS drainback(which now I feel better about) because as it turns out, I was right; there was a small amount of milky oil pooling at the low spot in the drain line, so I was able to get that out and routed it through the hole in the intercooler support bracket
- Switched to Motul 300V and fitted the AMSoil air filter and started putting miles on it until August(more on that in a sec). Car continued to have good pressure throughout
- Had the roof wrapped in matte carbon fiber, looks very nice
- Had the entire car professionally paint corrected and ceramic coated
- After a lot of time back and forth with the body shop(they took WAY too long but finally did it right), finally got the trunk lid painted and mounted the S203 wing and then pretty much immediately put it in storage in November. But I must say the paint match is practically perfect, see for yourself:

With the S203 wing on, the car looks....more mature? I don't know, maybe that's just me. Looks lower too. If you look closely at some of the pics, you can see the 1/8" rubber gaskets I cut to put in between the trunk and wing feet, which prevents rubbing and water from getting into the trunk holes. Believe it or not, S203s didn't come with gaskets like these from the factory and there was a "TSB recall" back in the day for gaskets to be installed as owners were of course reporting issues with the metal feet rubbing into the trunk and paint coming off as a result. I find that odd they hadn't thought of that ahead of time.

I said I'd elaborate on the August thing.....which leads me to my main reason for the lapse in time. I wish I was updating this with better news but I had something major happen in my life back in August of last year which is the main reason I haven't updated here. Along with that, I've regretfully made the tough decision to move on and sell the car as it has now associated memories I'd like to forget about. The car doesn't make me happy; I'm happy with the car as it sits and its speed and what I've done with it, but not happy for certain reasons. If I don't find a buyer for a while, I may just end up keeping it and making it faster with a larger turbo and the supporting parts. It's still somewhat in my mind, but for now I'm selling it and will be listing it in various places. I really want to start making moves towards getting an R34 before prices get crazier and I've found places that will store that car until I can bring it here legally. I believe I've stated this before.

I'll still make the rounds to others' journals though and will be around somewhere hopefully. We'll see, my future is a little uncertain right now.

Well.....it happened on Sunday. Something I never thought I'd do, but the car has been passed on to the new owner, who lives in South Sioux Falls. It's pretty bittersweet really. It's still hard to believe the car isn't in my garage anymore, but well, I guess it's only been two days now. I inundated him with a ton of info and all that, as is the nature of the car and modified cars in general. There's still a lot to pass on and I'll be remaining in contact with him until he gets familiar with the car. I believe he will be in contact with yamahaSHO when the time comes, as I've recommended that he's the best tuner for it. Hopefully he starts a journal on here or IWSTI so that the car continues to get exposure.

With that said, I'll still pop in here from time to time to check on things and others' journals. However I am leaving the Subaru game to pursue GTRs as I'm sure I mentioned before. When I get one I'll post some pics of it in here. I want to say a big thank you to the community and for all I've learned over the years from you guys and the friendships formed over that time, whether it be in person or online friendships; it's all meaningful. It has been quite a journey, with successes and lessons learned.

Sad to see it go, but at the same time, I went through it and I don't really miss the car... Mainly because I didn't daily it.

Hello people. Well it finally happened a few weeks ago...I was able to find an R34. Pretty pumped for this part of my car ownership. I think this is my endgame car, not really sure there's much else I want/can realistically own. Never thought I'd actually make this happen. Another thing I thought wouldn't happen...I'm on social media. Well, at least only for the car. If you're on Instagram, check out posts of the car @denver_r34.

There's some good bits on the car, and it looks like it was done well even if some of it is a little ricey. Those things will be dealt with, however the car is accident free and no rust issues, so that's the key thing. It certainly isn't perfect and some things need mending/replacing. It currently has just over 95k km on it. The plan is to go to Japan once or twice a year to drive it until it can be imported in November of 2025. I've already gotten parts for the thing, haha.

'til later.

I'm not on Social Media that often (or if I am I miss a good bit of things)... Are you going to make a thread on here for the R34? Please!

Umm, I might make a thread here, we'll see how I feel. I really hate NASIOC's image hosting. I am going to make a thread on SAU and GTR.co.uk though as those are the widest used GTR forums.

Small update: just been buying parts for the GT-R slowly but surely. Been talking with other owners on IG and forums. Obviously I can't go over and see the car yet since Japan's borders are still closed.

Among other things, I acquired a BNIB black-faced Nismo cluster for the car and only paid a little above MSRP, which is $600ish. Now that they were discontinued in December, prices have risen drastically. Someone I know recently sold one BNIB for $4k. For a cluster, crazy.

I'm really looking forward to ownership and all that comes with it, though I know it's gonna get crazy attention when it's here. I don't know if I'm ready for that. Hopefully I'm in another house and garage by the time it comes here, somewhat confident on that, but real estate is crazy here compared to Omaha. But I found out there's a SorD MNP II VSpec locally and two illegal cars, have yet to meet the purple car's owner, but we've been chatting.

'til later.
