Thank you. It was just what I was looking for. Was hoping to find a SWP STI hatch between 2011-2014 with low miles and tasteful to no mods. Looked for 5 weeks, checking literally every 2hrs or so on cargurus. I know that sounds crazy, but there were legit only 4-6 2011-2014 SWP STI hatches nationwide at any given time. Most came up with higher miles or heavily modded. Ones there were in good shape and low miles were coming up sold the same day they were listed. Felt like I hit the lottery finding this thing.

I'm excited to start this new build. I have a decent amount of parts left over that I saved from my WRX build. Hoping to keep it clean and simple.

If the wife didn't have the S3, I would consider one myself even though I'm a hatch guy. I'm blown away by that car. Every time I drive it I can't get over the feel of the steering. Audi outdid themselves with that car.

Thanks for subscribing Fred. Just got the COBB SF Intake & Airbox installed on Wednesday and tuned it to COBB Stage 1+ 93oct.

Stay tuned for more updates. Parts are arriving almost everyday. Gonna take it slow.

Let me start this post by saying my wife and I are avid dog advocates, volunteering in our free time for the nonprofit organization Pinups for a Pitbulls, Inc.
We have two rescue pups, Minka, a nine and a half year old female American Pitbull Terrier mix and Batman, a six and a half year old American Staffordshire Terrier.
Aside from my preference in the styling, the dogs are the main reason for the desire for a hatchback. Having them able to be securely in the hatch area as opposed to the back seats is super convenient,
allows them multiple windows to look out of, and keeps the rest of the car clean.

The first item I ordered for the new car, I ordered before I even found the new car. And that is the Subaru OEM 2008-2014 Impreza 5dr Pet Barrier. This is an item that for whatever reason is not sold here in the States.

For my previous WRX, I was using a universal pet barrier that worked off of tension bars kind of like a traditional baby gate does, where you just lengthen the mounting arms to whatever size you need based on the size of the mounting location.
The downside to this is the old mounting points were the headliner and floor liner within the hatch area. Based on the angle of the rear seats, the universal pet barrier cut off about 10-12" of useable floor space for the dogs in the hatch.
In addition to the reduced floor area for the dogs, the mounting points left indents in the headliner of my old WRX resembling suction cups.
So I did some research to find out if I could successfully order the OEM pet barrier I had seen pictures of either from Canada or the U.K.

I'm happy to report, I successfully ordered and received the OEM pet barrier from the U.K.

Subaru OEM Pet Barrier - 2008-2014 Impreza 5dr

Here's the Subaru parts supplier willing to ship worldwide:
DOG GUARD HALF HEIGHT IMPREZA

Subaru part number: F555EFG000

I ordered it on Tuesday morning, Sept. 20th. It arrived at my house in Philadelphia, PA USA on Friday, Sept. 23rd from the U.K.
I was blown away. Excited to have an OEM dog barrier that won't damage the headliner.

I was always a bit jelly of those who were rocking full LED tail lights by Valenti while I was just running the tail light overlays for the past 7 years on my WRX.
So this time around I thought I'd do it right from the start:

Valenti Jewel LED Tail Lamps

Excited these were no longer back ordered, just in the nick of time too with the new car purchase. Hoping to get them installed in the next week or two.

It was meant to be!! Love the Valenti tails.

If I ended up back in a GR I'd get a set of them. Plenty of STI sedans around!!

BTW, nicely done starting "slowly".

Got some STUFF installed today:

The OEM brake pads that are on my car don't grab for sheeeet, so I had to remedy that asap.
I was happy with the StopTech brake pads I was running before. Kind of dusty, zero noise, and great bite.
So I had a set of them installed today while I was getting the new steering wheel put in.

BEFORE:

Stock steering wheel

AFTER:

GTSPEC D-shaped steering wheel

And another angle:

Yeah, no idea why the States doesn't get them. Nonetheless, that U.K. parts supplier was super cool and got it here fast. Fitment is perfect.

I'm collecting parts as I sell off my WRX specific parts from my narrowbody.

Just got this last week:

Opened it up today:

Further inspection of the tips:

Passenger side tips look good

Driver's side tips, one of the tips has a dent.

Just got off the phone with ERZ Performance. Going to ship them back the axleback portion and exchange it for one without dents.

Oh well.

Yup, FastWRX. Coincidentally they came off backorder as soon as I purchased the new car. Talk about timing.
