Nice addition. I was thinking of the same trunk swap from the dealer so great to hear that they were able to cover the parts and paint together.

No wing is the way to go!
I'm late but here is my 19 I bought back in Aug. of 18! Right off the truck. I daily it in upstate NY so I have dedicated Pirelli Scorpions 2. Keeping the car clean all winter is a challenge but fun! https://img.nasioc.com/image/5865f40...528e6ffd.NgU6a https://img.nasioc.com/image/4003ad8...6cc7fd1e.Ng7w3 *can someone explain to how embed the image instead of the link? |

Hey CoronaWRX..I picked up a new 2019 STI Base last October. Since my car is the base & not Limited model. The dealer did a trunk swap with a new 19' STI Limited wingless.

I'm impartial when it comes to the STI wing. They look good either way. I'm typically rocking the Big Wing, but sometimes I like the anonymity of being wingless. A WRX or a Wingless STI is basically just another car on the road to the uninformed, which is sometimes a good thing (those of you that have encountered the over excited Honda/Audi/Bmw/Brodozer dude knows what I talking about). I've been an STI fan since it hit our shores, so when I got one, it had to have the Wing. I don't know how, but to me, the wing really changes the look of the VA body, it somehow emphasizes the bulges of the fenders. At some angles the wing looks too big, but to me the Wing is fun. I get it though, the Wing isn't for everyone, but to me it's part of the STI's personality, anyway enough jabbering this is pic thread, so here's a pic! Wing definitely makes the STi.
No other way around it. |

I took the wing off my STi the day I got it. It looks good on the blob eyes but not the new ones.

I'm located down in Poughkeepsie NY but I travel through Saratoga on my way to Schroon Lake every weekend. A stop at James and Sons and Druthers is always a must lol

Funny to see the widely differing opinions on which generation of the STI (if any) the wing looks good on.
I always thought the 2011-2014 sedan wore it best. But for me, the wing-delete option on the current gen made it a lot more appealing. I like the wing but it's not for me, if that makes any sense. Kind of like how I think it's cool the BRZ exists but wouldn't want one. There are aggressive cues all over the STI's body and I like most of them, but the wing takes it a little too far for my liking. I'd prefer something between wing and lip spoiler, like the spoiler available on the bugeye/blobeye/hawkeye WRX, although I'm not sure if one of those would look good on the current body. But hey, you know, choices. I'm glad Subaru started offering the STI with or without the wing so people don't have to go full trunk-swap if they want a subtler look. Highly recommend 18's and Michelin pilot sport A/S 3+ ....what I did...for rare snow. Found that the factory Yokohama's under 40 degrees got a bit "hard" and just were not that grippy. On snow could actually be an issue....the amazing AWD saves one for sure, but putting on at least a good a/s tires if not proper snows makes the car just that much safer.
Love the cars in this thread. Lapis low profile is what I drive. Had WRB on my prior car and this one is just a bit more sophisticated looking. The wing comment above is shared by me. Like them a lot, but a bit too much for me and feel the low profile option helps one blend it/avoid too much police notice. They notice anyway...just less. Had a car in the past with a very large wing...so I know wings. |

I know I asked before, but does anyone have a custom (not cobb) stage 1 tune on their Sti? Not very impressed with the stock tune on my 2019 and thinking about doing a custom stage 1 tune. Can anyone comment that has a tune with no other mods?

Yes. I took the front wheel well splash guard pins out so I could reach behind the bumper and push in the three main tabs holding in the bezel. Everything was done from underneath the bumper near the front of the wheel well. Only a couple pins removed and no scratch possibilities. It's a little longer than some of the youtube videos out there but I didn't want to scratch the paint removing the old ones, or just pull, ripping out the bezels. It only took about 20 mins for the first side then only 5 mins for the other side, after figuring out how to accomplish the first one.
