Question Evaporator thermostatic switch issue

2001 OBS 2.2 MT.

AC problem here. the problem seems that right when I plug in the thermostatic switch, the cooling fans automatically turn on, regardless of whether or not the car is running, hot or cold, or if the AC switch is on. From what I gather, the Thermostatic switch has one leg of power from the pressure switch (tests OK), the other leg from the AC switch, and communicates with the ECU via a third pin (WOT turn off compressor sort of thing). What type of output on the thermostatic switch is the ECU expecting? Is there something that I can use to verify? I have a spare arduino. I am beginning to suspect an ECU fault.

Parts replaced:
Compressor (with a used one)
evaporator thermostatic switch.
Pulled a vacuum and charged by can weight.
AC works fine when compressor is hooked to 12v.
Pressures are OK.
AC cools well when manually turning on compressor.
No belt slippage.
Pressure switch on receiver-dryer is OK.

what did I miss?
