Default Synthetic Oils

My friend tells me that synthetic oils are not good for engines that aren't made for it, he thinks my 95 impreza isn't made for synthetics, so all its doing is clogging things up eventually. Are impreza's engines made to support synthetic or not?

Ask your friend what engines are "designed" for synthetics.

It'll be fine, most of the stigma associated with synthetic oils arise from using it in old beat up engines...your 95 engine will be fine. Check it regularly though, if you're losing oil abnormally or there's a leak, then yea, you're having problems with synthetic oil seeping through, other than that it'll be ok.
