Smile tacoma krispy kream meets - read here for details

hey everyone -

Future meets in the NW in coordination with Project Alpha and the Affilliation Nation will be at another location from here on out. This location will not be advertised online until all details have been completed. Due the mass amount of requests for the gazillion various locations accross the NW, we have decided to keep it within a centralized location close to the mass majority of Import owners in our area.

We appologize for the inconvenience for some, but there isn't any way to make everyone happy at all times. someone is always going to be upset, and curtailing to every single individual's needs when the main group suffers in the end result, isnt a wise way to operate.

Please pm me or Email me more finite details - PREFERRABLY EMAIL - my pm box fills up WAY too fast, and then messages get rejected -

Email me at address provided below

thanks,

Kory Noble

so.. let me get this straight

sticker or not, you still have to obey the laws... understandable.

sticker or not, you still have to be a customer of krispy kreme in order to park in their lot... fair enough.

what exactly is the difference in registering to be part of this vs. just having the cops there and enforcing the laws without the red tape?

what exactly does one get for their signing this form? sounds like anyone could roll up, buy krispy kreme stuff and participate in this.. or it's going to be 'snobby' where someone isn't part of the sticker crowd gets snubbed?

stopping the asshattery is a good goal, but it sounds like it could be accomplished without the element of control.

wow this sounds like a total flop and a little bit like discrimination. Your basically making it so if you have a modified car you have to sign a waiver to park in KK parking lot. And I highly doubt Tacoma PD will ALWAYS be there every Friday and Saturday... uNless you hired them, lol. And what about the people that aren't part of the forums are you going to make flyers and what not and post them around? And what about the out of staters/towners that go there, they wont know about anything. There is just too much flaws as to why this wouldn't work.... I really think under the bridge at old 151 is going to be the old/new spot again... I doubt people will want to sign a piece of paper just to park and look at cars..... And how long are the cops going to be there, just from when they are open til they close? Because I know people stick around til 11 and KK drive thru isn't 24hr anymore... Good luck... heh i'll just park at the mall parking anyways, private property, unless I see that officially I am NOT allowed to park there afterhours then I'm gonna sit my ass there untill told otherwise, (not just the cops harrasing me either, I don't care abotu them) But Kory, honestly.... Good luck..... I'm not trying to bash or anything i'm just letting ya know if you don't already know that this might not work...

I have to give you props for trying to help smooth things out, but i go to meets to look at cars, not to buy donuts. I think as long as part of us are spending some money there, then we should be fine. if i'm going to have to show a receipt, then that's bogus. I'm on a freakin diet and i can't be havin no krispy kremes! But hopefully these will be guidelines, and everyone can get along.

They should just post like rules in the parking lot and have the place where we can park at marked, and just be on the honor system, a lot easier.....

THe honor system? You must don't live in the same place we do. And yes the cops show up every Friday and Saturday night....I mean seriously what else do they have to do....stop crime?

And if this was a one man operation then yeah I'd say that it might not work. But considering that its actually between some people with some know how, I think otherwise.
If you can't eat donuts then just give them to me. I don't run every morning for nothing.

first of all awesome job with the organizing effort kor, cant say wether it will work or not....i think in the long run people will do what they want and were they want.
living in "gehttocoma" hahaha i used to actually (while in no way condoning) enjoy going to KK with a few freinds parking in the KK parking lot sit down and drink some coffee eat a doughnut and watch the ricers run into *****....and each other and get arrested....oddly entertaining.
when we first started to show up there and drink coffee the security guard would kinda hassle us a little...understandably. but we took the time to talk to the guy...and KK to understand exactly what they expected from thier customers.
-DONT DRIVE LIKE AN ASS HAT
-OBEY ALL TRAFFIC LAWS ( the stop sign that everyone runs right next to were the normal paying customers pull out and almost get t-boned every 5 min)
-DONT SIT THERE REVING YOUR BURMESE COKE CAN MUFFLER.
-TO PARK IN KK YOU MUST BE A CUSTOMER SO YOU HAVE TO BUY SOMETHING....AND ONCE YOU FINISH YOUR COFFEE YOU MUST EITHER GO BUY ANOTHER OR LEAVE THE AREA AFTER A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME...NO LOITERING.
-THE PARKING LOT IS NOT A CAR SHOW SO THEY DONT CONDONE OPEN HOODS AND 15 PEOPLE STARING AT YOUR NEW HOOD PROP SHOCKS.
after talking to the people at KK we had zero issues with the guard and actually became freinds with him.
if you cant sit down and drink a coffee and bull ***** with out acting like a child then there are other places in the area with plenty of people to enjoy your pep boys exhaust and your 25 dollar hood prop shocks.
bottom line...lets all just use some common courtesy in public and we wont need a plan to figure out how to sit in a parking lot and eat a doughnut.

That's exactly what i'm talking about..... And a long with that one guy said, in the long run, people will just do what they want... And the past few times I went out there it's been pretty small and people have been alright, And if it's not a car show, then why bother having all these damn rules? It shouldjust be common sense then and obviously follow the law. KK on Fri/Sat is a place to hang out and look at other peoples cars. heh, I feel kinda bad for KK if they are really agreeing to this, because they will probably lose some business because of this.... But who knows, if it works, good for it, and good for Kory and his team for putting yet another success, but I still have my doubts.... Time will only tell.......

agreed, if anything, signing a piece of paper is going to make me not want to show up. it should be an unspoken word that everyone is to obey laws, and if you can't obey it then you should be asked to leave. this is almost sounding like i have to join a club and commit to it exclusively.

i, however, don't really attend tacoma meets anyways but i thought i'd just throw my .02 in there.

I wasn't asking you about the method of control, I was wondering how you fix a problem without some kind of control.

Or do you just leave it alone and and hope it goes away?

sorry, your "huh?5" wasn't specific what you were asking about.

everything that kory has suggested just sounds like "we're giving people a sticker and the police are going to DO THEIR JOBS". all the rules the "enrollment" is asking people to abide by are enforeceable laws. loitering, reckless driving, etc.

it's not a matter of not doing anything, it's a matter of the cops just doing their jobs. if anything, this will give cops a group of people to target when problems arise, when the troublemakers will most likely be people that DON'T sign it.

haha -

sorry for the quick post then no replies - I've been running around post all day.

For some real quick answers:

- There isnt any limitations to who can come, or who cant. We ask that you respect the premesis and treat others with respect. Unlike the past, when one person acts like a moron everyone gets the boot, that one individual will get the boot. Police will not be there all night, and yes, people will do what they want. We will have the occasional individual that flies through the parking lot, but we will have slight control measures in place to reduce those incidents (ie - cones, speed bumps, spike strips, etc - ok ok, i'm joking bout the spike strips...)

- The statement above is basically making an agreement from our group to the lease holders of the parking lot, and the tacoma police department. Those that sign the forms, which it can be anyone or whomever, are placed on a roster that myself and our affilliated groups will hold onto. When someone violates the parking lot conditions, then they are given a warning. They violate the rules the second time around, they're banned.

Under no circumstances am I being judgemental, or selective about who comes or goes. The bottom line is to emphasize a clean meeting environment for both youth and adults. In the end, tax payers save money by reducing the amount of police needed to secure street racers, and unsafe drivers... and we are also given the opportunity to change the way the scene is looked down upon.

It is possible, and we will make it a success. I survived 27 months of Iraq, so if I can do that, then I'm convinced that I can do just about anything.

Hit me up via email - [email protected] for more questions or answers.

if you would rather have a magnetic decal that you could remove after meet hours, then that can be arranged as well. If you are a temporary participant, or are just checking out the area, we will be able to arrange temporary passes for individuals attending the meet. If it doesnt tickly your fancy, then no problemo!

Lets keep this Civilized people - I realize some people have gained a bad taste from the prior KK meets in tacoma, but with the right coordination and an equal amount of effort put into it, we can make this a great success in the near future!

Take it easy -

Thanks for responding to some of the questions and comments that were posted, Kory. But that still leaves me with how you could possibly get people to sign it if they have not heard of the KK meets or this new plan.... Now, what I think erich said, is that it does indeed leave the cops with someone to target if some asshat does something stupid. And another thing with the cops that come thru, for instance, if a car is driving, has loud exhaust and dark tint, would the cops be more lenient on giving tickets or would they just go on a giving-ticket-spree?

edit: And would the list be for local only? People who only show up like once a month? Once a year? Does this roster work for other days if laws are broken in said parking lot?

Wow, all of that hassle to meet at a Krispy Kream location in Tacoma? What a joke... Would people actually consider signing these forums and driving out there?

Well here's the deal for the form submissions.

Walk up to individual a, b, c, d, etc... hand them the form, tell them about forums online (honda-tech,nasioc,evom,supraforums,etc), tell them about the deal with meeting at krispy kream, go over rules and regulations with them, have them sign the paper if they want to continue to meet there, then 2 week probation, get their contact info for forwarding updates or meet cancellations - get their sticker color preference, or if they want a magnet, its 3 bucks each, then make sure the rules are enforced.

I'm not an a-hole about any of this, and if you dont want to sign a sheet of paper, then thats on you. You're missing out, not me.

In the near future, with a positive influence on the scene, we will be able to have special appearances, outside summer concerts/dj stands (security provided), shop affilliations, promotions, discounts for sticker holders, etc...

....As for the hassle, you sign a sheet of paper, we do the work for you. You behave like an adult and a professional, we'll have no problem with people continually coming out to the meets.

when an asshat shows up, we get to sit back and watch the police do what they do best - diffuse the situation legally and safely. Shoot we may even develop good relationsionship with the local law inforcement, further turning the negative aspect of the import tuner scene for the better.

I will be posting this up on other forums once everything is finalized and I develop a page of agreement and liability, as well as the logo design.

thanks for the pro and con comments - keep em coming - good stuff!

on your edit posting -

this would be for friday and saturday nights only. the sticker really wouldnt apply for any other meets, but we would like to develop something that would enable us to put it on, then take it off once you leave - maybe a chalk pen/number we could write with - same way pacific raceways does it - each person has their own entry number/member card, then their number is recorded like said above. Police will not know any of the modifications on any of the cars, just the base details of the individual (ie: color/make of car)

Cops have already stated that legal issues arent go to be an issue unless an individual forces the police officer to pull them over. If you fly through the parking lot, and a police officer is present (which will only be there if their presence is required), then you will be cited for that infraction.

Policemen will not be going on a ticket writing frenzy - Already talked to the night shift police officers about this, and they have talked to their co-workers/police officers.

This works in Cali, Florida, and Texas... Nobody has tried it up here, for whatever reason I dont know... just because it starts on Nasioc doesnt mean it wont spread to the other forums. keeping things as civilized as possible is the end-goal. if this can be accomplished, then we can move the scene into a positive direction from the main stream stereotypes.

I'll post up more details as they come - keep sending questions here, or via email - no problem.

I really like the concept, I feel there are a few select aria`s that could use a little fine tuning (like any new concept of this fashon).

Sure there are a ton of people out there that are reluctant to regester before week one. Get a few people a week to conform with your regulations, get sponsership, display photo`s of success...It wont take long for it to explode if exicuted properly.

I might check it out to see the outcome. So does that mean that the southcenter meets are canceled?

Good luck
