Not seeing the resemblance. Looks Audi-ish from this angle.

^ I didn't notice that before but now that you've pointed it out, I can't unsee it

The Caddy looks way better, although of course it's also more expensive.

OR, why get the Caddy with the same stupid design flaw when that Civic will be worth more than the Caddy when the warranty expires?

Get out of my head man

Nothing depreciates
As quickly as the lost brand that GM wonít let die.

Caddy is the most squandered opportunity I have ever seen. Technically sound cars with the worlds worst leadership on earth

I sat in a CT4 V and didn't even bother taking it for a drive. The interior was full of plastic, super cheap looking, and the entire car was cramped. It felt alot smaller than my wrx. I'm 6'1 and basically couldn't even fit in the back (no leg room, head touches ceiling). The drivers cockpit felt equally small as well. Maybe the 5 V is better in the room department, but the interior was a big turn off for a $50k car. With no MT available, the car was way behind the 8 ball already and the rest of the package wasn't doing anything to get me to look past the missing 3rd pedal.

Default Mark Up Are Crazy

Quote:
Honda Civic Type R Dealer Markups Are BACK, And They Are Crazy
by Jared Rosenholtz
Some dealers want M3 money for a Civic.

When the Honda Civic Type R first arrived in the United States back in 2017, the excitement was palpable. It was the first time Honda had ever offered the Civic Type R in the US, and enthusiasts were understandably excited. Many even paid an exorbitant dealership markup to be among the first to own one. A brand-new 2022 Civic model is on the way, but Honda wants to squeeze all the mileage it can out of the outgoing car, especially the Type R.

The Japanese automaker revealed a lighter weight Type R Limited Edition, with only 1,000 units available worldwide (600 in the US). Finished in a bright shade of Phoenix Yellow, we expected the Type R to be popular amongst enthusiasts. Nabbing one of the 600 examples allocated to the US will not be an easy task, and CarBuzz has already spotted some astronomical dealer markups (aka market adjustments).

As a reminder, the 2021 Civic Type R saw a slight price increase for its final model year, now starting at $37,895. The LE is significantly more, priced at $43,995. For that sum, the LE doesn't receive any additional power from its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. The key changes to the yellow car include a significant weight reduction, tuned dampers, and a tuned steering rack. And remember, it's rare.

After browsing new Type R LE listings, we've found dealerships making them up to nearly $75,000. Gillman Honda of San Antonio wins the prize for the highest markup with a listed selling price of $74,999, while Courtesy Palm Harbor Honda in Florida is not far behind at $74,990. These are not isolated occurrences, as we counted 13 dealerships listing the car at over $60,000.

In fact, the lowest price we could find for a Civic Type R LE was $54,990 from West Herr Honda in Lockport, New York, which is still more than $10,000 over sticker price. Let's stop for a second and think about what other brand-new cars are available for around $75,000 or less. Some notable examples include the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, BMW M3, Chevrolet Corvette, Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, and Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

The Civic Type R is a pretty great hot hatchback and the LE looks pretty cool, but we'd take any of the above options at that price.
I did a fast search other Day Autotrader Type R. I couldn't believe it

Here's one 65k
https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing

Most in 200 mike radius in the boonies was about 40K to 50k with about ten in 60to 70 K..

well it is simple.... people do not have to pay that price, then magically, the markup goes away. However, the loser is the customer. They may be buying a 2021 Type R in mid 2022, so their new car is already a year and a half old and has been sitting for that long. Both are NOT good for the car.

Someone paid $200k for the rights to the Burning House meme girl pic, so getting an actual car for $65k is a bargain.

The CTR is a good car but it's not that good. It blows my mind people are willing to pay that kind of money for a FWD Civic.

I did a search a few weeks ago because I was half considering trading mine in. Even here in the mid-Atlantic the Civic has $8-10k markups for a FWD hot hatch in a place that gets both rain and snow. That's silly. I've been happy with mine for MSRP but at around $50k there are better options, people spending that much have lost their damn minds.

On the other hand they have propped the price of used CTRs up so **** it lol.

I hate that website now
What really blows me away is some of the deals that actually slip by though! A 6 speed 850 (5.0l) went for sub 10k. Probably due to people bidding on other cars.

I love BaT personally. What I do hate about it is how it shows me every car I want to buy in about 5 years, I won't be able to afford lol.
