The 2021 Lexus LC 500 Coupe is a stunning car in any configuration, but every year Lexus releases a special edition Inspiration Series that accentuates its beauty even further. In 2019, the first Inspiration Series was finished in Flare Yellow and last year's 2020 Inspiration Series came in Nori Green. The 2021 LC 500 Inspiration Series just made its official debut, wearing a more stealthy shade of dark Obsidian. As with previous Inspiration Series models, only 100 will be produced.

This being a special edition car, it comes with features not found on any other LC model. The black 21-inch forged-alloy wheels, for example, are not found on any other LC. Well, not any LC that you can buy in the United States. Lexus enthusiasts may remember the LC 500 Aviation Edition, which was limited to just 70 units in Japan only. It appears that the new 2021 LC 500 Inspiration Series is identical to the Aviation Edition, but the steering wheel is now on the left.

Knowing that there are 70 identical cars in Japan softens the appeal of the Inspiration Series just a bit, but it's safe to say that very few LC owners will have a car that looks just like this. Other unique exterior details on the car include a standard carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof and carbon-fiber rear air wing spoiler.

This special edition also includes some of the LC's best options, such as the Torsen limited-slip differential and Yamaha rear performance rod. As with all LC 500 models, power comes from a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 producing 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission, yielding a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds.

The Inspiration Series receives a unique interior trimmed with black Alcantara sports seats, black Alcantara steering wheel and shift lever, Saddle Tan seat accents, and tan seat belts. A serialized badge on the center console and carbon-fiber scuff plate remind occupants that they are sitting in a limited edition car. The LC Inspiration Series also packs the best interior options, including a Mark Levinson 13-speaker sound system, HUD, and SmartAccess Card Key.

No pricing was announced, but last year's model cost $104,105, which would be a significant upgrade from the LC 500's $93,050 base MSRP.

That looks real nice. That is the kind of car I want to see more of out of Toyota/Lexus. This is great. Something to look forward to. Toyota is quickly grabbing my attention to be one of my favorites.

I also like the new IS design.. thing is the best looking new sedan out there.

It's very handsome but over $100k for a car that will get dusted in a straight line by many German SUV's makes this a proposition for people that have to have Japanese.

I keep waiting for a LC500F, and for them to get rid of the touch pad, but all they do is put out special editions that don't sell year after year.

Supra costs what? $50-$55k? I think they expected the Supra to sell in a much larger volume than it has been and the price point certainly *should* have attracted more buyers. If the Supra was to be a $100k car, it would need to take on the corvette and GTR to attract the right buyers.

They should call it a Soarer and drop in their Twin Turbo V6. That would be more Supra than the Supra is.
