Talking Steve Moyer Subaru Reading PA

Just a quick note...i spent a pile of money there on my 95 Impreza coupe last week....and i am happy as can be with their service. I would rather not have dropped as much bread but still happy with the svc. and the timely manner that things got done. Chris in service is a cool dude and very easy to talk to. (FWIW, i dropped almost 2k there for my repairs etc...)

Well, that's nice, but they ruined my 94 Legacy's engine - the fanbelt pulley was coming loose and they didn't diagnose the problem properly - they just tightened up the fanbelt more. As a result the pulley hammered itself to the shaft, necessitating the purchase of a new engine.

From my perspective, Steve Moyer Subaru can pound sand - they'll never get my business again. Ever.

Gunna bring up my experience with Steve Moyer. Had a bad experience on purchase in 2013, only went through with deal because couldn't find any other SWP sedans (lots of hatches). Offered bull **** for trade, said blah blah blah its not worth it so i bought car without trade in (they wouldn't offer more than 1500, I traded it in a year later on another car for 4500).

Just had a horrible experience with an insurance claim. Had car for weeks when it was supposed to be 4 days. No one knew the status of the cars progress and always someone new trying to find out. Never returned calls. All sorts of claims and "needed" things on their inspection sheet (car has 20k miles never abused). They mis painted the car the first time, then after finishing it ran the brand new lip onto the curb and had to reorder. For the second time they mysteriously forgot to have the PDR guy remove the ding on the passenger front fender - this is convenient because I bought the warranty for dings, wheels, keys. So this still isn't even done.

Such a disaster SoA shot me a good faith coupon for a few hundred bucks. Steve Moyer can pound sand. I have every intention of buying more subarus, but i'll drive 3-4 hours before I drive the hour to this dealer again.

I've also had more than a few misdealings with Steve Moyer Subaru of Leesport.

I bought a 2009 Forester from them new and I honestly got a pretty decent deal on the sale, so I was rather happy with them at that point. However, over the years their service department has made me mad so many times that even though they are super close to me I won't ever be going back to them again for anything.

Started with a recall to put in a new engine map, after they did it my Forester drove like utter crap and got horrendous gas mileage. Took it back a second time and it now drives better but the mileage never did return. It was averaging 24 mpg before that, now it gets 20-21 on average. They told me this was normal???!!!! They wouldn't do anything more for me. Then, a year later my exhaust developed a really bad rattle. I took it in and they said they needed to replace some padding between the pipes and heat shields, this was under warranty so it was free. One year later the rattle came back, so I took it back in and they insisted it was not under warranty this time (they were going to add different type of padding) so they wanted to charge me to fix it again. I paid it but wrote a letter to SoA, never did hear back, but one year later the rattle returned yet again and to this day it still rattles. I'm not paying for a fix again, I've tried several of my own fixes but nothing seems to stop the noise. Then just one year ago I ended up going to them for new tires as I had a coupon and decided to use it. They put on four new Kumho's that from the very first day would not hold air properly. These tires will randomly just lose pressure, never enough to go flat but it's annoying. Sometimes they bleed slowly, other times the tire will be fine one day and down to 20psi the next. Took it back to Steve Moyer, they replaced the air valves but that did not end up fixing it. After that they said I would need to contact Kumho and take it up with them as Steve Moyer would not take responsibility for them anymore. The tires are junk and I paid for them and are stuck filling them up pretty much weekly. I'd have replaced them already if I wasn't looking to trade it in on a Crosstrek soon.

Their service sucks, their attitude is horrendous, and I'll never deal with them again. There are two other Subaru dealers in the area who friends of mine deal with and get great support and service, I'll be going to them for my new Crosstrek and any and every service for now on.

Do not go here, took my car for repair after accident and they messed up the repair so bad that the insurance totaled my wrx. It was a complete nightmare dealing with them, thank god I stood my ground and took the car to a seperate place after so they could validate the issue to the insurance. Just because it has the Subaru name it doesn’t mean a thing, just another lousy repair shop.
