Can you describe the exhaust note under normal driving/cruising?

Thanks buddy!! That's a big responsibility, I hope I'm up to it! You've had a big hand in the results, even before you tuned it!

I want to figure out the drag radial rear idea so I can run my tall street tires at 26.7" and match up the Mickey Thompson ET street radial 265/40-18 on new wheels for the rear. The MT is 26.5" but will probably grow a bit at speed. What I need are some 18x9 @35-45 offset with the 5x100. I think that maybe Enkei makes a 18x9 or 9.5 with the 5x100. Does anyone know of a wheel that I could use on my XTI like this?

Here's a link to one of the dyno pulls on pump gas. It's not a whole lot louder than stock. Have you ever seen the movie Truth in 24 about the Audi team at LeMans? The engineer talks about their turbo diesel motor, the noise level and says something to the effect that excessive noise is wasted energy! My car is a road car, it see's a lot of highway miles, it's very comfortable to drive and just gobbles up the miles!

I remember something about your FP black, were you pushing oil out the turbine seal?

I'll try to get to a VD plot both on E85 and pump but it may be a little while, my car is in Detroit and I am up north at my house. It's easier for me to do pulls in 3rd instead of 4th because of the speed at redline 106 vs 140.

Yeah and exhaust wheel was hitting the housing...

You got the spec-B gears? Because my 2011 sti 4th gear goes to 105 I think..

Good thing you caught that! It outa spool quicker once you get it back rebuilt!

They have the same 4th gear, 5th and 6th are longer in the spec-b. I refer to Fuji's excellent: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1689781

I've got the 07 STI box and I run 245/45-18 tires, they're 26.7" tall. I turn 2250 rpm's at 60 in 6th gear. My redline is 8k but I make the best power revving to 7500 and at 7500 my 4th gear is good to 136 mph. At 8k my 4th is good to 143! Do you use the MFactory gear calculator, http://www.teammfactory.com/gearcalculator.php? It's a good tool for gearing, tires and wheel selection. What tires are you running? If you have a 225/40-18 then your 4th is good to 112.

I think I may have found a wheel to use with rear drag radials and leave my front road tires on. MT makes a 265/40-18 that has almost the same diameter as my 245/45-18's. junior told me about the MT's and thought that I could make it work on my XTI with just rear drags!

It's funny Juan if I could rev my toaster out to 8k in 6th gear it could do 215 mph with my gearing and tires but its an aerodynamic brick! Hahaha

Thanks! I'm almost never on Woodward but I may have to do a little cruising there, Angel would like me to show my car out there. I think my XTI is gonna piss some people off!

I calculated your tire/ gearing on the Mfactory gear calculator and your 4th gear at 7500 is good to 124! How high can you rev er? I forget do you have cams and head work?

For me right now with my build the limiting factors are 1. injectors, if I upgrade to the ID1300's when they come out the limiting factor will then be 2. The turbo, with the ID1300's we will fully max the turbo but it may make close to 600, we'll see.

Junior is going to do another map for the track for me, to pick up some on the back with top end. We'll see what the XTI can do

Vince, What was angel doing to your car? I know he has done a bunch of stage 2 ringland failure re-builds! I'm blown away at how many new STI's/ WRX's are cracking ringlands very early in there lives! Subaru has taken a hard stand with this issue!

My speedo doesn't work since the 08+ STi trannies do not have a speed sensor anymore... I need to get the DCCDpro speed thingy.

I guess I been doing tons of pulls to 124mph lately . My redline is 7500rpm... I have been tempted to bump it up since according to my VDs the car doesn't drop any power.

Yeah the VSSPro. You need bigger tires! If you're still making power, spin it some more as long as your heads and VT can handle it. For me I need more injector, then I can spin it up to 8K. I'll run out of turbo then.

I have my 1200cc fiveO for sale if interested. They work awesome for me and I never had any issues. They should blow at least 300cc more than your ID 1000s

Thanks but with the power I have now, I'll wait for the ID1300's I'm not screwing around with any other injectors, I'm done with that! My Id1k's are at 55 psi base and flowing pretty well. What fiveO's do you have now?

My motor and build with the Killer B header is pretty efficient, so I am making the most with what I have till the ID1300's show up!

Awesome build man! I should be starting my (similar) build in the next couple months. I am actually going to go with the Dom3.5 based on your past posts and the numbers you made. These numbers are even more insane!! I don't have E85 unfortunately but I have 110 at the pump locally, so that will be my fun map haha.

Any plans on running it at the 1/4 mile? Sorry if I missed it. Enjoy!
