Did it throw a CEL? Suspect that you had a misfire on one or more cylinders. Had that happen on my '08 OBS - turned out to be bad gas (had water in it).

No cel, that oil temp just flashed on and the car felt like it almost died. I was about 5 minutes from home and it just happened out of nowhere. I'm at the end of my tank, about 1/4 left, oil level is fine.

It's just a little reminder that you might need to take a break from driving. I think the 1 hour reminder is a little early for that, but a 2-hour reminder would be welcome, IMO. Time can fly by at 70MPH.

Anyone running a cargo box yet? Which would fit snowboards and not interfere with the hatch?

Here's mine:

I'll be picking up my new Impreza tomorrow. Anything I should know? I want to install rallyarmor mud flaps (is that easy enough by the way?). Should I make any pointed upgrades to a premium model? Also, can anyone recommend any nice wheels that look better than the 17's the upgraded premium comes with (they have to be pretty cheap)? The ones on it are merely nice...I was looking for something with a more sport premium feel, or at least a darker more subtle look than the flashy silver wheels.

It was my original choice but no longer really an option. There are literally none left in my area and I need a car as my previous ride kicked it. I'm alright with it, the premium is only costing me a few hundred more and I get a moonroof so its a tradeoff I suppose.

I hadn't realized the car had to be lifted and wheels removed just to install the mudguards?

I've been looking at the Subaru splashguards vs the Rallyarmor mudguards. Any opinions or advice on which is better or worth the money? Thanks!

"There are urethane mudflats that are 1/3 the cost of Rally Armor. I just ordered a set of the 'simplified' Flapatax (more my style, the original look a bit oversized) http://www.ebay.com/itm/321026873742...84.m1497.l2649 www.Flapatax.com or search for flapatax on ebay when the above link is dead. They sell two styles, pictured below, both styles are on ebay or their site, come with full mounting hardware and instructions (that you can also go to their website and see). http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulle...09/index2.html " |

If you are a guy in his 20's and the sole driver, the rally are indeed more practical and look ok. We bought the stock color-matched Subaru guards, and I think they look nice, work ok, and my wife was greatly relieved to see the results, since its primarily her car. |

We've been lacking any significant snow in Buffalo since I picked up Nugget last December... well tonight we got dumped on for a lil bit & I don't leave work til 11pm so pretty much had free reign on plenty of unplowed city streets. It was a blast! Take the traction control off & have some fun! (Obviously not unless you're playing or stuck, just sayin if you haven't already for those picking up their 2013s play around with it off) I love this lil tank & it did damn good with stock Yokohamas on still with around 17k miles on them. It handles deep powder, heavy snow & plowed streets way better than the slush but most any tires do. Next winter I'm gonna go with Conti DWS but for now I'm more than happy.

I was about to say the same. Got 20cm of unplowed snow here in Toronto. Took my baby out for her first winter. No issues. Tons of fun and drives like a dream even when not driving fun, as in driving according to the road conditions. Stock tires are just fine for both. I love this car!

Are there any negative effects to pulling e-brake while car is moving? this is my first awd car so not sure if it affects any moving parts differently back there than a fwd car.

Does anyone know if this will fit on the sport premium? When I followed that link it say its not compatible with our 2012 - 2013 Impreza's. The price is the best so far I have seen and I don't want to spend $140 on rally's. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

I assume you're talking about fully stopping the rear wheels to get the back end loose. It's obviously going to put strain on your center diff, so if you have to do it, just make it momentary. Also, put the clutch in when you do it so you're not trying to fight the motor with the hand brake.
