I got excited when I saw those Wicked flashback to playing Dark Forces back in the day.

So far, all they get is garbage, but as we already know, eventually Snoke is the result of all of the experimenting.
Pretty nifty origin story for Snoke.

Vader-looking clones at the end of the episode are a complete mystery to me.
This theory on the clones makes sense to me

Wrote AND directed.

Great episode, really. Moves the plot forward, lots of action, and tons of callbacks to the universe we know.

************ Spoilers Below ***************

The reference to Grand Admiral Thrawn was a surprise for me, but a welcome one. And the idea that he's going to take Grogu to the temple and find a DIFFERENT Jedi to train him... boy howdy, who's THAT gonna be? Someone new, or someone we know? Who's alive in this time? Luke... and um...

Good episode. I was not the biggest Asoka fan when she was introduced in Clone Wars. She grew on me in Rebels though. I am still disappointed with the direction that Kennedy and Disney took with the movies. There were so many stories that had been developed with the extended universe that just needed to be filmed.

You're thinking of Aayla Secura (the blue chick). Ahsoka Tano is orange.

I don't see how anyone could have issues with Rosario playing Ahsoka. Her performance was understated. Maybe it's good her words are so few, if that's people's tiff with Rosario.

I'm only 4 seasons into Clone Wars and Ahsoka is cool. I'm somewhat aware of what happens later. Now I'm more eager to finish up the series and move on to Rebels (which I've seen chunks of already).

I get that people want the Ashoka voice lady to be Ashoka. But Rosario LOOKS like she has been drawn up till now.

Also, is Ashoka still looking for Ezra? Based on her wanting to know where Thrawn is, yes. Ezra to train The Child/whatever...yes, 200% Filoni, do it.

Ezra's is the only Jedi left to train Gorgu that I know of...Sabine left with Asoka to find Ezra.

Not feeling the name Grogu.

SOLID episode though. One of the best yet. Rosario did great, physically. Her voicing was a bit weird. Didn't like the Countess or whatever at all. It was cool she could fight though. Curious (I'm only on S1 of Clones and haven't watched Rebels yet), why is Thrawn her "master"? I only know of him as a commander of sorts. Does he have powers or something?

From the extended universe, Thrawn was one of the only non humans allowed to become an Imperial officer. He was a very intuitive tactician, but was mostly given command of a fleet in areas that did not matter as much to the Empire. That is sort of what is carried into Rebels.

It was a guarantee that the toxic Star Wars fanbase would bitch about ANY casting for a character like Ahsoka. They could have genetically bred an actual Force-weilding Togruta and people would have complained.

Rosario did great. She had the look already, and she has the acting chops. Her voice was a little deeper but otherwise she nailed the way Ahsoka speaks. And given how young Ahsoka was in Clone Wars and Rebels, it makes sense that years later she'd have a slightly deeper voice, a little more beat up and gravelly.

See that's what I was confused about. She's older, so she's gonna sound different, more mature. People are like, "Well, she doesn't sound like her, but she did great!" And I'm like, " Have you never heard a real woman before?"

These are Star Wars nerds.

So... no.

Edit: Carrie Fischer sure as **** didn't sound the same between RotJ and TFA.

So Ahsoka refuses to train Grogu because of scary past and his bond with Mando, but maybe another Jedi will do it if they just complete this one task? What other Jedi would, besides maybe Luke?

Grogu as a name bothered me at first but I've slept on it and decided it's fine.

Well Din brought Grogu to Ahsoka. He sought her out. So it wasn't a natural Force connection, it was just old fashioned detective work. But the Force seems to be a lot about feelings despite what the Jedi like to say. So she just wasn't "feelin' it" naturally.

By bringing him to the temple, he might make a spiritual connection, a proper "calling" for another Jedi.

Who besides Luke? Ezra Bridger.

It's not about the range of the voice. Look, I'm only on S1 of Clones. Haven't watched Rebels yet when stuff probably goes real bad. I guess she becomes hateful and jaded. Dawson just played it so depressed and monotone while I'm used to a fiesty, rude Ahsoka.

Oh ... and Ted calling people Star Wars nerds ... lolololololololol.

I sort of got the feeling the child didn't want to leave Mando, and she felt that. Thus the smile at the end. He seems to feel safe with him, also they need to find some way to keep the show going, which at this point is the child wanting things or eating things and generally being adorable and the Mandalorian doing side quests.

It's basically Fallout 4 with a green bebbe.

The vibe I get from Rebels is that she's more chilled out, because she's no longer a teenager. That's why it wasn't a stretch for me to see her played as depressed and monotone. Lots of stuff has gone on, and despite Palpatine Alpha being overthrown she has to deal with remnants of the Empire years later. Probably some fatigue and trust issues going on there. Hard to be enthused about life and such.

That transition is most what I'm looking forward to in finishing up Clone Wars and Rebels. Filoni directed (and wrote) this latest episode, so I'm sure Rosario's performance was very deliberate.
