Should just make a subforum on NASIOC for GRC since it's essentially the new STI and half of the people here will have one as soon as they can.

when you consider that most STI's lost their 4th cylinder anyway, that's exactly what it is.

Ooof. The deepest of cuts.

I found some of Pre's posts and they were all harmless. I can tell that place will be touchy because the mod in my thread seems overly serious and suspicious of me already.

Reminds me of the AKIC section of NASIOC back in the day. Lots of overly sensitive, serious posters.

Now, the question is, is the GRC gonna be the new BRZ/FRS with all the cringy fanboys?

Depending on the price, the answer is yes. Anything $35k and below will "ruin" it.

Yup, I warned ya. I've seen 10X, hell 100X worse on here, and maybe some timeouts. Bunch of children who cannot handle anything. God help you talk some truth.

I hope not but a lot of what I read is shear entitlement. I mean you've got many of these people trying to get on 10+ lists. With some calling every single dealer in their state. Others calling their dealer and demanding to know what the people on the list in front of them are ordering. I find that appalling, like it's any of their business. Sorry you were late but you cannot whine your place up the line.

I don't do social media apps as I view them as a plague on society. But apparently there are a lot of Fakegram Inthluencers posting "Just put down my deposit for my new GR Corolla Circuit Edition" that were way late to the party and they will not get one so the whining and bitching, especially on that forum, will be absolutely epic. You have a slice of them that are hardcore Toyo people, know have every engine code, Toyo SME's basically, can cite every model every year etc. You have the Boobaru leg humpers that have jumped, and they really complain "blue" isn't offered Then you have people like us, chano, etc, AWD turbo hatch folk, and WRC fans and we are the overwhelming minority. But I have seen what you are getting at, and a disproportionate number of 20 somethings, entitled, extremely sensitive, total newbs who complain and whine at most anything and push for cancel culture if their frail sensibilities have to read something they don't like, especially the truth. I have never been on a forum where so many are all "This will be my first new car purchase." I have a feeling Toyota will add some MSRP due how numerous these comments and posts are. But the short answer to your question, yeah unfortunately it's looking that way. Oh and everyone thinks they are getting a circuit edition. Going by that forum online, it's not looking good. Cringe and fanboy % is looking awfully high.

I am curious on price. I don't think it's going to be on the higher end of the guesswork. But I do, for the first time in my life where I want to buy something, hope they do charge a little bit higher amount to get rid of a bunch of Randy's. This thing has taken the record for entitlement for anything I've ever seen in the automotive market. The best part has been reading the geographic metros with the highest entitlement. Dealers had too many deposits said F it, and refunded them all, because these kids are insane and calling entirely too much. "I put a deposit in two weeks ago, I'm 15th, and I needed updated information". I mean it was so bad dealer employees were just hanging up on new people that called as they were sick of the phone ringing all day. Those who got their deposits refunded oh my. The whining, the entitlement on display. Randy's dude. Z, CTR, other stuff will present itself, they'll lose interest and jump around like the fake POS they are. The funniest thing out of all is all the color whining. "Why not more colors!" when the GRY was/is offered in Pure white, Pearl White, Red, Black, that's it. Limited production, smaller more hand built factory so they want option stuff like paint more on the limited tip. Far too many Jethros just jumping in, who have done 0 research, and certainly haven't followed GRY anything. But there is a small % of cool, knowledgeable people, with plenty of experience, and patience, IE adults, who don't care when they get theirs as long as they get one and it has the PP. But the majority, you can tell this is one of their first times in life "adulting", and I can't believe that word is even a thing. What can you expect from a generation of people who had a phone pacifier put in their mouf when they were in elementary school.

Pretty sure 40% of the GRC owners will be giving the car a super aggressive stance, while 90% of those will be vapekings wearing flat brim hats.
__% will be gymkhana enthusiasts once Ken Block gets his hands on one.

So then Subaru is losing their current fanbase? WRX went downhill once the MY2002 got cheap as a used car. We used to just be young-dads in WRX wagons, engineers and college age/graduates on the forums/meets. Now it's a mixed bag of what you described.

Anyone else notice Pre has never used "Randy" as descriptor before this month and since the month started, he's done so more than 10x? No? Just me? Ok.

Yup. I am still trying to figure out what exactly it means. I assume Randoms, meaning non-enthusiasts?

which is basically anyone who isn't him. cause no one can possibly know more than he does.

I know I got called a Randy, since I don't know what it means, I didn't take it as an offense.

Google's first result is the old meaning: sexually aroused. I could see that making some sense in context I guess but I figured he meant male Karen.

The GRC makes me randy, but I'm learning to make room for the possibility that I won't own one right away. It'll be the first time not getting what I want from a new car (of what's available in performance/trim/options at the time), but I just really don't like stressing about things I can't control.

Yaris thread OP here, I'm on a dealer list for a GRC, so hopefully that works out to a circuit edition.

Isn’t the male version of Karen a Kyle?

Unlike Karen, there are a few male names. Kyle is the most popular. Randy is fairly recent and hasn't caught on much. Historically, Randy is a very positive name for a dude in internet vernacular.
