Is this groundhogs day? You guys are still sword fighting over the ADM discussion? I think I now know less about the vehicle and more about ADM and peoples posturing to which trim they decided they now want when previously stating that trim was dumb and lambasting others and vice versa

Between the two, I'd take the GR Corolla, but circuit edition, I don't want a Morizo, because it would be a DD for me, so kids in the back and all that. I don't do cloth, so the core is out. I will continue to not buy a new car, I guess.

To the ADM conversation that continues to rage on; I won't pay ADM, it will prevent me from buying a vehicle I want; however, I'm not going to buy a car I don't want just because they aren't asking ADM for it.

A GR version of the Corolla Cross would be cool. Flared fenders and the GRC drivetrain in a decently sized family package. It only weighs like 3285 lbs in current form.

Slap some of those anniversary stripes on the side for them hard parkers...

I spoke to the dealer today, the sales manager tells me they expect the car will arrive in 10 business days, I'm taking this to mean I'll take delivery sometime around January 21, or a bit later.

the deal we struck is MSRP. however, I couldn't back out of the PIO, also there are dealer options I couldn't back out of either, tint, ceramic coating, non-transferable unlimited powertrain warranty (good anywhere), non-transferable unlimited oil changes (only at their dealer, and on the standard service interval). to be clear, the cost for those things was very fair, it wasn't some BS $15000 paint protection to hide an ADM.

all of these things you find no value in, I'm sure, so you'll tell me it's a horrible deal, but for me, I don't have to take it to a tint installer, or find someone to ceramic coat. same as you, this will be a long term car for me, so extended warranty, and free oil changes are very nice. aside from maybe a TRD intake (when/if), and some RPF1s, I'm going to keep it stock.

so yeah, close enough for me to say, I told you so, but I'll wait till I take delivery to post a photo of me next to it with a hand written, dated sign, that says that.

the only part of the deal that I don't like is the interest. but I have a plan there. once I get out the door, I'll call the bank and put a hefty payment towards the principal. basically enough to make the loan terminate about 12 months early. which, if my math's right, will save me about 30% of the actual cost of the loan.

I think its ridiculous, you win $2b and then you end up with less than $1b in the pocket due to the lump payment, taxes, etc.

They definitely have more line capacity for the G16 at Shimoyama even if Motomachi doesn't have more capacity for GR Corolla. Narrowbody Corolla GR Sport (6MT or 8AT FWD) and Corolla Cross GR Sport (8AT AWD), maybe?

Nah, you said MSRP, that is not MSRP. That's a bunch of things tacked on, overpriced, and a form of ADM. I don't care though, it's not my money.
