Good info. I asked the dealer about the difference between old and new and he didn't really give me any feedback. While we became proficient at the old one, it was a PITA to do it quickly as with an approaching storm while on the road. We got drenched more than once....

Since I've been looking at Jeeps, it seems like I see them all over the place. I saw a nice TJ Sport w/ no doors or top, big tires and all the goodies on the way into work this morning. I was jelly. |

I tore out the rear 3rd member the other night to have the Detroit locker and solid pinion spacer installed. Should be done Tuesday at the latest.
This was surprisingly easy to do by myself. I had both axles out and the 3rd member packed up in just over 3 hours even with taking several breaks and also helping my neighbor move a couch. Here's a shot of the ARB bumper me and Damon installed a few days ago. I love the way it looks. Tonight I removed the front diff so I can install the Spartan locker tomorrow, get it back in and replace the ps pump and box before our trip to Hidden Falls next weekend. This was a tad bit harder to do since the inner CVs are bolted to the diff with studs so it took some wiggling and prying to get it out. And here is the mess that the PS pump is causing on the passengers side. The drivers side isn't as bad since the box doesn't have anything below it so it mostly drops straight to the ground. And here is my daughter making sure I have all the refreshments I needed and also passing me tools every now and then. She was FILTHY when we finally finished up, definitely not afraid to get dirty. After I get it back on the road the sliders are being welded on by a guy from a local 4WD forum! Can't wait for next weekend. |

Cool 4Runner, I still miss my 1990, and that's awesome on the helper!

Out with the 3.07's and D35 These things are so much easier then you have a torch... Arms- Prepaint and final welding mock up- Front in- Skids all ready to go back in... (leaving GTS bling blang for now)- Gotta get skids back on later tonight, get rear pinion and side to side adjusted again, and get her back down. Then bumpstops and exhaust for now. Looks like the OME shocks don't really impact up travel for now which is cool (the truss almost hits the cross member right when they fully compress). |

For now I have, I wanted to see how this combination does first since I'll spend roughly the same amount installing these two(Detroit/Spartan) as I would have buying just 1 ARB locker. If they make too much noise and just aren't very street friendly then I'll take them out and go with ARBs.
After my last trip to Hidden Falls I realized how badly I need lockers especially since my front tires come off the ground so easily because of the limited travel of the IFS. I didn't want to make another trip without lockers! |

yeah.
$33k and change for the Sahara or $39k for a Rubi COD MW3, both four doors. <scratches chin> AEV bumpers and hood will run $4k easy, making it a $2k difference (only $1K if I add Katzkin leather to the MW3). I like the color-matched hardtop and fenders and the leather of the Sahara but the 4.10 gears of the MW3. Suspension and wheels will get swapped on either to AEV so draw there... |

If its not your DD you can prolly live with it. They make themselves the most noticeable in parking lots and other slow areas. Its really funny when the people walking near you when the Detroit pops duck and run for cover or stare at you like something just tried to kill them from your truck. |

I do drive it a lot but my 52 mile round trip commute is 90% highway. Sure as hell hope it isn't that bad since I'm not going to be too eager to rip all this **** back out again. |

Anyone know the jeep event that was going on out in Co over the past few days? Saw several packs of dozens of modded jeeps and countless numbers on trailers.
