Hey Roger - yep, I replaced the gas cap right off the bat. I also pulled off the evap box to check for cracks, inspected all of the hoses, etc, etc. I even took some steel wool to the lip of the fuel filler just to make sure that the new cap was sealing perfectly.

I'm betting that the fuel filler neck is corroded through somewhere near the top, but honestly I'm tired of messing with it. I just need to get it fixed so that the damn light goes off and I can pass the e-check. I hate to take it to a dealer, but am willing to bite the bullet just to get it behind me. Any suggestions?

Hi Paul. (Hi Roger, too.)

I've had my car in for service at Ganley Lakewood (warranty replacement of oil-leaking turbo) and Ganley Westside (100,000 mile belt maintenance) in the past year. Both dealerships took care of the work -- nothing stellar -- but they both took longer than their initial time estimates (though, both did give me a loaner car in the meantime). Also, I'm taking my car back in to Ganley Westside because it has been acting/sounding funny while driving with the A/C engaged since the belt replacement, which was about a month ago.

Those are my limited experiences. Good luck with your car's issues!

Anyone have a spare bottle of Motul 5.1 laying around and willing to meet up with me in Akron/Fairlawn? I'm going to try those stainless lines again on Friday and want to make sure I have enough extra fluid to cover any mistakes.

I'll have a new bottle shipped to you... I just can't get one here by Friday without paying $40 for shipping.

^ Thanks for the note.

Jose, sorry to see that you're leaving the area - but I know that you must miss your family like crazy!

I can't imagine having to relocate, even temporarily, because of my job.

Safe driving, my friend!

Hey all!
I just joined on here so I'm just dropping in to say hi. Glad to see a Cleveland area thread!
Right now I'm mainly living in Toledo for school, but I come back home to Cleveland every so often. So if anything is going on just let me know..I'd love to check out other Subies and get some ideas for what to do to mine. Also, I bought this Megan Racing strut bar and can't quite get it to fit..so if anyone ever does meet up I was wondering if someone would be able to take a look at it and give me some pointers on it?

I used to have a WRX. Bought it new in 05 and then a friend totaled it . But I still have something 4 cylinder and turbocharged to bring to meets if all the subarus play nice.

Anyone local have a set of toast wagon struts for an 04-07 WRX WAGON that they are looking to offload? Got a buddy in NC doing a Koni insert install on his 05 Wagon, and just seeing if donors were available to make life easier. I can pick up local and deliver to him, so it's the perfect way to avoid shipping.

Let me know! Thanks!

What are you referring to? He already has the Konis in hand, along with wagon pinks, so he's really just looking for the donor struts.

Thanks for the reply, though.

Exclamation Gas station octane changes?

This morning, I stopped at the Sunoco station near my house to fill up and was surprised to find that it now sold 87, 89, 91, and 93 octane gasoline. The last time I stopped at this station (a few weeks ago), it sold 87, 89, 93, and 94 octane gasoline. I've seen this change before, but only in other states. Is this a shadow of things to come for all northeast Ohio gas stations? Will 91 octane become the new standard premium gasoline (like places out west)? Or is this just a localized occurrence? Not that my WRX is tuned, but the thought of having to regularly fill it up with anything less than 93 octane doesn't sit well with me at the moment.
