Post Another accident to report. Please be careful out there

Hey guys, add another one to the list. Tonight I hit a patch of black ice, slid sideways into a guard rail, fliped onto the driver's side slid 15 or so feet, then came back onto all fours.

(boy that was a run-on sentance if i've ever seen one)

My left side is all scrached up and dented. My headlight and foglight are cracked. Funny part is they both still shoot light.

My cd player didn't skip or stop.

Not a scrach on me (lucky this time). Thank god no one was in the car.

Well thats about it. Learn from others.

AWD is great (it probably kept me from going over the rail), but sometimes it just doesn't matter. I wish i got the optional anchor.

Thanks and be safe,
Ed

"My cd player didn't skip or stop."

ROFL! Sorry, I just HAVE to laugh at that one.

Did you drive away or was it towed away? Sounds like you drove away by your description...

Na, I didn't drive it away. A flat bed towed it to my house.

I thought the CD thing was funny too, It was the first thing i noticed after all four came back to the ground.

It's an AIWA CDC-MP3 player, it plays mp3's off of CDRs.

Thank god I had awd, I did manage to get the car sideways, and tried to catch. But no dice, if i had hit the rail strait on i probabley would have went over. There was a ramp shaped Ice/Snow mound in front of it.

Don't let anyone ever tell you these cars arn't tough. Everything still works, aside from the flat tire I could be driving it right now.

I guess the best test of anti-skip is to slide the car on it's driver's side door.

I won't know too much about the insurance costs yet. But the cop who stopped said he wrote the roads were slick on his report.

I'm guessing it'll cost me $500 which is what i would have had to pay (somone keyed a four letter word on my door a couple back).

Funny you mention the cd player thing. Same thing a few years ago when I got hit(ok, I pulled out in front, my only accident I've caused) in my old S-10. Dazed, slightly banged up, first comment out of my mouth to the passenger was "Hey, did the disc skip?" Friends still make fun of me for that. Needless to say, the side of my truck was beaten six ways from sunday by the Tempo that hit it, but my cd player didn't skip, so I was OK.
