![]() I've noticed that my headlights are always on when in auto mode. They aren't the DRL lights and my guages and screens are also dimmed. I haven't been able to figure out whats going on. There's nothing blocking the sensor to make it think that its dark out.
Any help would be appreciated.

![]() Is the DRL circuit working properly? I assume that you are saying that the headlights are working at full normal brightness and not in the dimmed DRL mode.

![]() If you swapped stock halogens to aftermarket LED then that’s your problem. LEDs use way less power and do not operate with the same circuit load as stock bulbs. As most people are unaware and constantly blinding people with full power high beams as DRL’s
If you still have stock bulbs , then the sensitivity may be set to the maximum setting turning on the headlights in pretty much any condition other than direct sunlight. Look at your owners manual how to adjust the sensitivity setting. |

I already have the sensitivity down to low and from what I've read that just changes how quickly the go from off to on and vice versa. This was going on before the LED bulbs |

![]() That sounds like the sun sensor on the dash or the dimmer roll switch left the the steering wheel. If you turn it to the full bright setting the dot, then the dash lights should never dim. Have you replaced the radio? If seen wire issues when the illumination wire is hooked up incorrectly cause all kinds of dash light issues.

![]() Sounds like a failing light sensor on the dash. The black button looking thing right of the center display about the size of a quarter. Have seen dash cleaners get in there and ruin the chip. Part Number: 84088FJ001
https://parts.subaru.com/p/subaru_20...4088FJ001.html But I've also seen LED headlight and marker bulbs cause crazy things with the Body Control Module, You may want to try swapping back any LED's to normal bulbs and see if the problem continues. Last edited by Blktrax; 12-24-2020 at 04:24 PM. |

This was happening with the standard halogen bulb that was in the car. |
