Default Drive Belt Issues

Hello, as the temperature dropped significantly my engine picked up a particularly annoying chirping sound upon startup. As I was checking the belts, the alternator tensioner bolt had snapped due to the tensioner being tightened as far as it could and had actually bent the bolt. The engine was Jdm swapped around 2,000 miles ago by a trusted Subaru mechanic and had all belts, spark plugs, etc. replaced. Both belts seemed clean and free of any glazing or cracking. I still replaced both belts with the same models as the ones installed and the tensioner bolt and to no avail, the alternator belt still has a lot of slack and the chirping/screeching sound has become much worse. The car is a 2002 wrx sedan.

Things I've picked up on-

Chirping/Screeching only happens when cold started and goes away after a few minutes. Does not make any sound if the engine is still warm when started

The chirping doesn't start right away, it takes about 10 seconds until it really starts to screech.

In the first few minutes after I start it, the chirping sound can be heard when I accelerate and when I turn the wheel full lock to lock but after a while, it all goes away

The alternator does not seem to have the room necessary to pivot high enough to put tension on the belt

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The belt you are using is too long - the incorrect belt.
Take the belt to auto parts store, ask for belt for the US model/engine. compare to see if they are the same belt. Many times the size is stamped on the belt. If the belt they offer is shorter then that should work. If it isn't the same then try a shorter length belt than the one you have. I'd try 10-15 mm shorter.
Usually the US WRX alternator uses a 5 rib 17 mm x 895 mm belt.

What is said above. And get the tensioner fixed. You can't tell if things are as they should be unless you have a functioning tensioner.

Thank you guys so much. I saw the belt that was installed only had 4 ribs and did appear to be longer than the new one I purchased today. I replaced the tensioner and the belt and everything works great now.
