Worst spot to get that. Sad day indeed.

About 6/32" remaining, 50k or so on these snow tires so I am impressed! Was planning to buy new in the fall, so summers going back on this weekend with more snow in forecast:/ guess i have a truck and excursion if i need

Something similar happened to me last year - I ended up getting a nail in the sidewall And that was after I got a nail in my winter set and ruined the sidewall too, so I lost 2 sets of tires. Ended up sticking with all-seasons this year, hope to get a new set of winters next year

It's hard to beat the sams club tires with roadside hazard warranty for this reason.

I got mine at Costco, but that is 300 miles from where car is currently located, I would still end up buying 3 new tires if they warranted the 1

Anyone know of an easy way to hide scuffs on the grey sports rims?

I got a nick in one on a car wash rail so the outer grey coating chipped off, its white underneath which sticks out easily.

Is there like a colored sharpie that will match or a better method? I don't really want to paint the whole rim just make it so you can't see it from 10 ft away.

I have 1 on 2 different wheels but I don't care so I haven't bothered to look.

Here's an interesting one - has anyone had an issue with the blower only coming on on the high setting, 4? I just noticed today that 1-3 for the speed don't do anything, only when its on 4 does it come on full blast.

Cycled thru all of the settings, upper, lower, Defrost etc and its all the same, they only come on when on 4 (high) setting. Blower going?

Edit: looks like it could be the resistor on the blower that went? Link:

Yes, fixed the ac blower on high only issue for a Toyota Camry by replacing the blower resistor a few months back. Old resistor looked like the one posted on the Forester thread with some corrosion.

so far have just a quick 2 mile drive and about 8 mins of idle time between 2 different starts/days to try and circulate the Kreen around and hopefully free my rings up.

will be driving it to work tomorrow. before adding the Kreen I was down another 1/2 qt in 900 miles

if i can even get to 1qt/5000miles I will be ecstatic!

Yep, gotta love the internet! Already ordered the replacement, also ordered a cover for the blower as well for $30 that helps muffle the sound a lot.

Here's the link I found from the XV Forum:

https://subaruonlineparts.com/subaru...er-p-3064.html

1 - 66066FJ010 Under Cover
2 - 99045AE020JC Retainer Clip

I wasnt able to completely verify that it will fit our 2012's but it looks like it will. The thread was talking about 2013 Crosstrek's that didn't have this, and 2014s that do. Apparently it gets rid of that awful sound when on low fan speeds, 1-2 the ticking sound. Figured for about $30 it was work it to try.

Edit: reading the reviews on that page, someone said it fits their 2012 Impreza perfectly. Seems like a good cheap addition! I'm all about reducing interior noise while driving.

One of my favorite mods I've done has to be the Hella horns install. It's literally saved me several times from accidents, which I'm not so sure the stock horn would have prevented. Almost ran into someone at lunch on the way back to work when they pulled out in front of me. The horn stopped them in their tracks

need to order some new wiper arms, so maybe just order that cover too....

drivers side is starting to lose tension, the car wash i have gone to for the last 6 years is starting to blow the wiper up and they just fling straight vertical. no one seems to sell springs

So I changed out my snows for my no seasons because I was doing some work on the brakes and didn't feel like jacking the car up another time.

Got a little April snow,~10" on wed, then another 5" yesterday.

I forgot just how bad no season tires are and can't believe people who run them year round. In the past 2 winters I haven't had my traction control or abs come on for more than a second.

With my no seasons I couldn't stop or go without it coming on lol.

Same, i even have decent ones! Went around a dry corner with a tiny bit of sand on the ground this morning and the nanny kicked in! I shouldn't have to have snows on in April.

I think next year Im getting Nokian snows, just haven't decided on studded or not.

I would only get studs on a third vehicle that you can take out when there is a chance of getting stuck. I drive too much on dry/wet pavement that they would get worn down plus I think they are illegal in Michigan.

I can't say enough good things about my blizzaks they are like 4 years old and don't have a ton of tread left but they grip so good still.

Legal in ND

Supposedly the Hakkapeliita R2 is better than the xIce3's i had but the studded 8 or 9 is supposed to be better. even on dry pavement.

probably won't get 50k on them though, edit: just checked my records, looks like 46k or so
