![]() Hi,
So if you are like me you like to clean stuff up as much as possible and are always tinkering. I've always removed the evap parts in the engine bay on my subies but decided to remove the charcoal canister system as well this time. I took pics in case anyone else would like to do this. (Note there is no performance gain, i am not responsible if this damages your vehicle in any way, this is for appearance and simplifying things, and you will of course have to have your tuner delete codes) Engine bay clean up: Remove all parts marked as red: Which are these parts: Afterwards cap both items marked A. Item B can be capped or left vented, doesn't matter. (In my pic I don't have the A port on the right side capped as I'm using it for a vacuum source for a 3bar map, otherwise id have it capped): Rear end cleanup: Remove all parts marked as red: Which are these parts: Afterwards we will put a breather on A as it needs to be vented since it goes to the gas tank (breather is just to be cautious and not let anything go in). B can be cut shorter and left alone as it goes to B in the engine bay. C is left vented as that is for the fuel filler overflow. D is the harness which you just zip tie up. After looks nice and cleaned up:

![]() Great write up! Been wanting to do this to my car. Quick question. Would I be able to just remove the canister and leave all the engine bay stuff intact? I run a stand alone and am not sure if it would be any different.
Thanks |

![]() Yeh you can just do the engine bay half, the rear half, or both.

![]() pulled mine out today, went really smoothly.
I was having an issue with fuel ups, the system would pressurize and keep tripping the pump nozzle, would take 15 minutes to get a full tank. After this that problem has gone away. Now all I need to do if find a way to permanently clear the code... |

![]() yes you will have a check engine light for multiple codes concerning the evap system if you do this. The only downside is that you'll be a much bigger polluter so if you are required to pass emissions i would not suggest doing this just yet.

![]() Thank you for this write up! Really helped me out. I would just like to add to anyone who is wondering, the breather can be any 1/2 inch breather that you could pick up at a pep boys or autozone.

![]() Some of the EVAP codes dont show up with the accessport. Youll need and actual code scanner.
