Default Manley retainer chips

Wondering if anyone has experienced small chips around the top of the keeper hole on the Manley #23180 retainers. The retainers came with the spring and retainer kit pt #26180. Purchased new in 2016.

The retainer has 23475 miles on it... used in my built STi with Kelford 276/272 cams.

Note: All retainers have similar chips

Is it in the area where the springs seat? Probably need to add spring tension with some shims.

The chips are not where springs rest. They are at top of hole where keepers rest. You can see a chip in 5he photo
