![]() From everything I've read, the 3576 is the better of the 2 at that size. The big thing to remember is you want to make the turbo work at an efficiency range where it generates less heat and the larger turbine will help a lot especially at higher RPMs. Talk to Chris at Killer B and I bet he will recommend that turbo.

Op, I wanted to build a de-stroker for my car given it lives over 4k rpm so it would lend well to my uses. I didn't for a few simple reasons. 1) When parts are correctly matched a 2.5L can and will make power up into the 8,500rpm range (mine does from 4,000-8,500 on 272 cams). 2) There are some small very specific things that are done to make a 2.3L work perfectly and the knowledge is less commonly known. Most any machine shop can Hellen Keller thier way through a 2.5L build and have good results. 3) They tune differently due to the nature of them, my tuner has seen more 2.5L's then there are 2.3L's in existence. However, if I didn't have a machine shop I like or a tuner I am unwilling to leave I would have a 2.3L and would have contacted the people that have the experience with them (you appear on the right track with that part). |

So finally after purchasing the car for the project, i was able to get it back home yesterday. Now comes the hard part haha. Drivetrain has 70k on it and lots of extra goodies that I was going to buy either way. Does have a spun bearing eng so need to pull it out and inspect it. Now just need to find time for all of this. Had to take off the bumper to get it on the trailer all the way to strap it, God what a PITA it was. Couldn't take the tires off since it was already 3/4 on the trailer. ![]() Ya I should start a build thread, but decided not to go with the ETS kit and was able to get my hands on something different (but that's a secret for now). Eng will be a de-stroker on E85 but not sure who will build it. Decided not to go with IAG.

![]() Have been watching the thread, looking forward to your engine builder selection and how the process goes. I'm back to looking around after my last crummy builder experience.
v - Thanks. I have not ruled out either of those mentioned. However I did much homework last time and that did not end well. Last edited by JarHarms; 01-28-2021 at 03:58 PM. |
