All that area that isn't white is most likely the ground showing through the snow. Hitting that at a good pace can turn you into a snack that's laying on the ground instead.

those looked like some late spring conditions, makes sense with the bear being out like that.

either way, I think that person was going as fast as they possibly could.
I could tell my ex there was a bear chasing her, I doubt she'd have managed to even go as fast as this skier was.
