The reason the title is vf vs 20g is a local guy has a godspeed 20g new for a steal..
I have heard good and bad things on these turbos..just curious for your personal inputs.. Would like a consistent 350+hp 400 really the limit..cars a family dd.. And which clutch should i look into? In your opinions.. |

You should buy nothing. It is painfully obvious you have done zero research on any facet of this change from the turbo itself, to the injectors, to buying fuel rails when not needed, to knowledge of which clutch to buy, or the fact that 350 to the wheels on an 07 will probably hold about 8 seconds before third gear leaves your transmission for a tour of downtown Philadelphia via Calcutta.
IF you are contemplating this, you need to do several things: 1. Read the links inside http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=533787 several times. 2. Call your tuner and ask for his advice. 3. Know that your transmission will likely blow up at this power level in short order. 4. Stop buying stuff without researching. 5. Any turbo that you get for a "steal" is either stolen or janky as crap. |

OP, you should look into blouch 18g-xt or blouch 20g and since yours is the Hawkeye I don't think you will need to change the injectors.

Thats just it needed to hear opinions on that turbo for myself.
275 for the 20g..i know that godspeed could really hit and miss wasnt to serious on the buy just wanted opinions is all.. Haha "free is a steal" "pay me to run there products" thats pretty much my selling point to just walk away!! As to research on my part of the product i have done my fair share i was only asking the experts on there opinions nothing more..(starting small talk) As to my clutch and injector questions those are real honest questions not because i havent done my research just want an idea of someone else is running with similar mods to chime in. (Learn from someone else's mistakes so they don't become my own) As to the fuel rails the common problem i read is the stock rails do not give enough fuel to cylinder #3 So i eliminated that from ever happening. The 07 trannys are a little stronger then there older brother. ( not saying it will hold, but i baby it the stock tranny is rated for 350ish hp) I have done my fair amount of research but it never hurts to ask a question.. "There is no stupid question! Except, possibly, a question not asked." --Christer Romson |

That turbo is absolute garbage. I'd say wait with the turbo altogether and get used to the power you gain from all the rest. That's more than a healthy start to modding a car. |

You ask your tuner which injectors to run. That's it. No and then. He will tell you brand, type, and size and anyone relying on the opinions of others on this matter is ignorant. Had you read the threads that I linked to in my first post, you'd know this.
You buy clutches based on torque output or projected torque output if upgrading at the same time. That's it. No and then. Relying on the opinions of others on this matter is ignorant unless you find 2-3 clutches that match the torque rating. Had you read the threads that I linked to in my first post, you'd know this. You swapped out fuel rails because you are a poor researcher that listens to ignorant people as fuel rails have zero to do with fueling to cylinder #3 being good, bad, or otherwise. That issue was put to bed LONG ago and had you read the threads that I linked to in my first post, you'd know this. The 06/07 transmission is arguably the weakest transmission in any Subaru ever due to the 3.70 final drive which lead to a huge increase in the reports of broken third gears. That issue was put to bed LONG ago and had you read the threads that I linked to in my first post, you'd know this. Are you spotting trends? When someone posts a link, you need to read it. I'm trying to help you. Help yourself by listening to me. I have 160,000 miles on my WRX and have well over 300 to the wheels....I know of what I speak. |

After your a safe distance away, follow Unabombers advice and spend a lot of time reading those stickies. You seem to be trying to learn, and they have all the info your looking for. I know its said a lot here, but they really are a great resource. Your not the first guy to ask many of these questions, and once you have read them over you will likely have different questions for the guru's here. |

Unabomber- what makes you feel that i haven't been reading through your recommended thread?
Theres alot of links in there its equivalent to reading the good book lol! Going to take some time but i do apperciate your helpful knowledge! These are the answers i look for!! I bought the parts based on the main points needed to help the car perform to its best and to eliminate any future weak points.. Everyone has there own opinions on things but doesn't make it wrong..(one tuner will say"yeah your good" others say " no get it fixed") With the clutch- i really have no idea what im going to put down which means i do not know what clutch i will need. This thread was a point to ask anyone else out there with similar mods what there hp looked like and what clutch they were using..no 2 cars are the same just wanted an idea. Fuel rails and fpr- got them cheap, figured why not due to the #3 cylinder problem.(which from what.i red now was never a problem? Transmission-cross my fingers until i get a 6speed..everyone knows there weak thats a given. I am spotting a trend..no reason to put anyone down over unknown or misunderstood knowledge.. As to listening to ever word..i have my opinions as well as everyone else but i will put yours into great consideration. Thanks to everyone for the input and great knowledge!! Any more input let it rip. |

Question: what's your end goal here? are you going to be racing? Track? Rally? AutoX? Pinks?
Or are you just putting everything in the car to say you put everything in the car <- Another link for you. |

If you dont know your torque, that's where you call your tuner again and axe him.
And don't fall down the 6 speed hole like so many other ignorant people...there are 57 other options that could be BETTER than a 6 speed....once again it comes down to research. You gotta lotta readin' to do kid, so get started. P.S. If you sent me that turbo along with $100 via next day before 10 a.m. delivery, I would drive the box to the nearest Taco Bell and launch it from between my legs in an upsweeping motion over my head and onto the roof. That's what I think of that turbo. |

sell all your parts away...everything!
come back and research properly...if you need to, write the points down or make a word document. that's what i do. a folder full of useful info, pics, other member's dyno's etc. who told you 06/07 trannys are the weakest? that's a false statement. as far as anyone knows. its the bugeyes... if you did research you'd understand that it is all about your driving habits that have an impact on the transmission's health. you shift quick and hard. it's gona break. keep in mind, once you go past stage 2, its not going to be reliable for DD, atleast. |

Stage 2 can be extremely reliable if done properly. I have had 2 WRX at stage 2+ and I have yet to break a major component. Use quality parts, and don't drive like an asshat .. all it takes. |

Do me a simple favor will ya? Go to our search feature and on the right hand side type in Unabomber as the username and then below it, choose Transmission (AT/MT) & Driveline as the forum and click the Search Now button. My posts in that forum have exceeded the search maximum of 500 listings. That's 500 posts in the transmission forum ALONE. I know of what I speak buddy.
