Default 2.5l 02 OBS misfire?

Lately I am noticing a rough low 500 rpm idle and today while driving to work starting out in 1st gear and shifting to 2nd it feels like it is almost cutting out. it revs fine though in neutral and there is no cel.

Any thoughts?

Whats the most recent work you've had done to it. last year or so. Did it get better as it warmed up? was it driving fine last night?

8,000 miles ago subaru rebuilt due to head gasket failure. usally i never let my tank go below1/4 line but i did 2 weeks ago. it was warmed up when it did it. 2 miles later it got better.

Manual or auto?
How long has it been doing it?
Does it ever improve or is it always at 500rpms?
Are you saying it started when you went below quarter tank and then got better 2 miles later?

Funny, I just picked up a 2002 Impreza wagon and it idles at 500rpm 9 outta 10 starts. Doesn't feel like a rough idle or anything like that. Guess I should take a look at that fuel filter
