no need to buy bulbs if you want the yellow look....LED wont help much imo...just buy yellow film and wrap the housing lens.

I've read a post where 35w HIDs were installed in the stock fog light housings and they caught fire and burned most of the bumper away.

You probably read the thread where an owner of a 06-07 STI did that. That was faulty wiring that caused that. It was NOT because they were HIDs. You can put HIDs in the glass/metal housing foglights on the previous Impreza. I had a set in my STI and it actually ran cooler than the halogens.

Is there any way to aim the fog lights on a 2010 outback sport?

I readjusted mine last night. If you aim them as high as they go they do provide useful light, but I noticed road signs had a noticeable yellow glow (I have a yellow film over mine). I brought them down to hit closer to the ground, but that got rid of most of the benefit they provided before, so I split the difference. Still probably higher than they are designed, but at least they contribute additional useful light. Without turning them on there isn't much difference in illumination right in front of the car, but with them on the sides of the road get a bit more light, to avoid deer I'll sit with that compromise. |
