Default PPG Releases First Transmission Upgrade For R35 GT-R

Quote:
Australian gearbox specialists, Pfitzner Performance Gearboxes (PPG), has just finished work on its first Nissan GR6 gearbox upgrade.

The replacement first gear should hopefully alleviate issues some owners have been having when placing their R35s under high stress. The major problem has been stripped teeth on first gear which then leads to further failures.

The PPG gearset shown above on the left is clearly much wider than the stock item and will drop in without any further modifications.

Upgrades for high-power applications and a full ‘first through fourth’ gear set are also on the agenda. We’ll keep you posted once we’ve got the low down on those.

Given it was the destruction of first gear that halted one GT-R owner’s on-going quest for the R35 quarter mile record, we’re looking forward to seeing times fall further - bring on the 9’s!

Why Nissan underbuilt the gearbox(and provided a factory setting to destroy it) is beyond my comprehension. Beautiful pieces, though, PPG really knows what they're doing. Price?

Oh come now, it clearly states in your warranty manual that disengaging something-or-other to enable launch control (which isn't mentioned at all) will void your warranty, cause global warming, effect mass extinctions and make Baby Jesus cry!

I feel the same way about the WRX gears ANd these PPG deals are gonna be outragious, funny how a lot of people are going to 6spds and mfactory's instead of PPG's, hmmmmmm, maybe just maybe someone is asking a little too much for there gears sets
