New battery and wrap?
I'm looking for a battery so I hopefully don't have to replace it for the next 5+ years or so.. i was thinking of getting the optima red top (model 35) and wrapping it in the termo tec battery wrap. Is this over kill? what do you guys think?
(nows the perfect time to buy a optima battery right now because of the $25 rebate )

optima batteries are hype
dont fall for it....and anywhere it is HOT most of the year....batteries wont last that long under the hood anyway you'd be better off buying an advance auto gold battery with a 36 month non-prorated warranty(you get a free replacement for 3 years) and 84 month prorate |

Heat kills batteries and turbo cars have a lot of heat under the hood.
I would try the battery wrap, I know of a few that have gotten longer battery life with the battery wrapped. I can't really say any Optima lasts longer than a decent other brand battery. |

I would use the wrap, I'm not sure I would spend the extra on an Optima.
About the only time I have seen better results with an Optima battery are when people are running a huge sound system. But that part is just my opinion. |

^^^completly agree.
Do you really need an optima? If you answered yes.... than why a red top? Its just an overpriced starting battery. Unless you're mounting it upside down there's no reason to waste the money. I've seen more returned than being sold back when we used to carry them at my work. |
